I've always liked how supportive the S4 Recaro seats are, I just never liked their prices. I stumbled upon Kittrell's S4 Cab seats in the classifieds a couple of months ago and noticed that the dimensions are pretty much identical. The side and leg bolsters as well as the thigh support are the same as the S4 Recaro seats.
I knew I wanted them I just had to figure out how to get them, since Kittrell lives literally on the opposite side of the continent from me. After some back and forth with him and several quotes from shipping and moving companies (seats are too big to fit inside a box and we couldn't find a pallet to attach them to) I finally found a shipper who was willing to pick up the seats at Kittrell's house, pack them at their warehouse and then deliver them to me. Travel time was 3 weeks but in the end the seats arrived safe and sound wrapped in foam and shrink wrap like a couple of mummies.
Install is a breeze as long as you have a 10mm triple square socket for the seat bolts. The seats are completely plug and play except for the seat belt attachment. I had to make a small cut in the plastic trim in order to anchor the belt to the bottom of the seat. Also, if your car doesn't have full power seats you will need to replace the 10A fuses with 30A ones, since these seats are full power (even the head rests!). Added bonus of cab seats - the backs can be pushed forward if necessary so you can load more stuff in your car. I admit the cab seat lever looks a little odd in an avant, but whatever.
As far as comfort - I'm very happy. Love the thigh support! The side and leg bolsters are also a big plus in fast corners. And the seats are very comfy overall. Also love the supple leather feel and the way it smells!
So here's a couple of pics I took with my iPhone during install...
