    Tire Question - RS4 20'S

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

    Looking for some insight here.

I have just recently acquired a set of the OEM RS4 style 20's and currently looking to mount to my b7 RS4.

I have noticed everyone seems to run 265/30/20 which appear to be a rare size and more expensive than most.

With that said i am considering the following:

    255/30/20
    255/35/20
    275/30/20

I dont want to much side wall as i like the wheel to be more pronounced which has put me off the 275 option slightly.

As for my current set up of 255/35/19 i have been really happy with the ride and concerned that by dropping to a 30 profile it will ride like an old horse and cart.. obviously it will be a stiffer ride with the 20's naturally but dont wont it to be completely uncomfortable.

Would love your advice and pics if anyone has any.

    Cheers

    RS4 Style wheels ... a factory upgrade order for S5 and S8 ..

As for 20's each to there own.. i will retain the 19's for performance use.

stick with 255/30, then your diameter is the same at least. The 275's are out by about 1.75%.

My current wheels are also 20x9 and I'm running 255-30-20 Hankook Ventus tires right now. Previously I had 265-30-20 BF Goodrich KDW.
Once these Hankooks need to be replaced I will be going back to 265 just because i like the look of a wider tire. I think you would be better off with a 255-30 tire if you want the wheel to be more pronounced.

I vote for 265's as well. BUT 20's are not for RS4's IMO.

well against all the IMO's .. i got the 20's and chose to run 255/30/20's

Here is a single pic thus far which i am extremely happy with the outcome.. will take some more once i have had a chance to wash it.

The factory S5 20x9" are a great upgrade for the RS4 if you want to go to 20". They aren't the lightest wheel, but with the proper centering ring they are a beautiful wheel to fit. If anyone is looking for a set of these I've got some nice pricing on them and can get the proper centering rings to make them fit the RS4.

Looks great, lowered would do them even more justice!

they also require at least a 5mm spacer on the front to clear the caliper

Ideally you would like to go with the 265/30/20 but if you want a less expensive alternative, there are plenty of 255/30/20s that will suit your needs :)

couldnt locate the original ones as they are larger than those found in factory RS4 wheels..

Have just collected a new set from the dealership today and will fit up tonight.

    Cheers
