Rebuild bottom end/head or swap for used long block?

To fix an oil burning problem, details here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-whole-vehicle . I am going to either rebuild the bottom end and head OR my mechanic recommends getting a slightly used (<60k miles) long block that has good compression/leak down and swapping that in. His fear is something else going on inside the block or head that will cost way more to fix than just replacing a few parts. My AMB engine has 150k miles on it but all 4 cylinders are above 170psi and less than 10% leak down. I NEVER plan on going beyond my FT F4L at 20psi peak boost. Any recommendations which way to go?

Parts if I rebuild my block:
IE forged con rods (19mm wrist pins)
    calico coated bearings
    stock (keep old ones) pistons
    stock (new) rings
    rebuild my head:
Supertech SS nitride coated exhaust valves
    stock (new) valve guides
    stock (new) stem seals
    stock (keep old) springs/retainers
    stock (keep old) intake valves

I posted this new thread because the question changed. My first thread was regarding selling the vehicle or throwing money at it to keep it. This thread is after I've decided to keep the vehicle and throw money at it, what is the best way to repair it. I can combine them but I just thought, "New fundamental question, new thread." I was hoping to get more "rebuilding engine" advice on this thread.
