Gonna keep my Imola Avant build thread...

Many of you saw my earlier post about my tranny taking a crap and me being frustrated with the car. Well, Ive decided on keeping the car and building it to a conservative Stage 3. Not quite my original plans for the car, but stage 3 nonetheless. I was hoping those of you with some more experience could tell me what kind of "numbers" / performance I could expect with the following:

    BW k04 turbos
    ER ICs
    APR chip/tune
    RS4 injectors
RS4 intake (box, MAF, accordian hose)
    RS4 inlets
    Piggie pipes
    Neuspeed catback exhaust
    tranny re-build
    6-puck clutch

My original plan before the tranny going (1-2 collar) was to do a build close to the above, but would have went with EPL fueling and tune, while also having my heads completely gone over. But, to do all of the labor (motor / tranny pull. tranny rebuild, clutch install, stage 3 install (turbos, ICs, etc.) and price of parts I dont have yet (APR chip/tune, injectors, inlets, clutch, tranny re-build kit, fluids, gaskets, etc.) it will cost me $4k. The tranny re-build alone for parts and labor was going to cost me around $2000...so I figured keep the car I love and re-build. I figure the worst-case scenario is down the road I sell the APR tune and go the EPL route. The car is a DD so I wanted a "reliable" stage 3 car.

I am hoping with the above "build" I will be satisfied with the power for the time being. I had sold an 08 A3 at the beginning of the year because it wasnt enough power, and I couldnt justify a k04 build on that car being that it was a DSG.

    I would appreciate any feedback.

I should be getting my Avant back by the end of the week. I added to the parts listed above the following parts, Stern motor and tranny mounts, a DTS bar, spark plugs, an RS4 Y-pipe on its way, and a Deatschwerks fp. I feel like a kid at Christmas time counting the days.

Why wait on the EPL tune?

Didnt have the funds to do it the way I wanted. The way I went this time around, I wanted a conservative tune that would be both reliable, get me back onto the road quickly, and within my budget. I am not saying your tune isnt reliable...it was actually my first choice. However, all of the labor and parts (aside frm the turbos and ICs) was right around $4k. I already planned on a stage 3 upgrade and had bought the turbos and ICs previously...but when my tranny went, I had to come up with that immediate expense. And since that had to be done, why not do the rest?

Down the road (hopefully a longer than shorter one) I want to do a build around either RS4 or 2.8L heads, RS4 intake manifold, and YOUR custom tune.
