Could I get some help on a dumb question?

Hey all. So I am installing my LED interior lights (courtesy of www.krautoparts.com). I put the lights in the vanity mirror lights, and they look awesome. Only problem is, I can't get the housing back in properly. Is there a trick to getting that annoying metal clip on the side to hold properly? It keeps falling down.

The metal clip is just on one side right? The other side should have some sort of tab that locks hooks it behind the liner. You may have broken the tab off when removing the light. I've dropped hundreds of headliners and sometimes shit breaks.

That clip is completely bent back. The edge of the clip should be more parallel to the edge of the light as opposed to perpendicular like it its now. Be careful trying to straighten it as it is likely to break. Looking at the picture it should look like an upside down U as opposed to a D. Does that make sense? When you take the light down, you insert a little pick to compress the spring and it pops right out.

So I should bend that clip down? I'll see what I can make happen.

You gotta bend that clip down - then glue it or wedge something in there. It basically lost its "compression" since you bent it backwards. If you have the one on the passenger side take that one out and look at it, it'll show you what it's supposed to look like. I had that same issue with mine in the S4 and it was a PITA....once you bend them that far the wrong way they almost never stay right again.

Use the liquid one that comes in the white-out look a like bottle (with brush). It's just way more clean.

Where did you apply it? Headliner where it touches the back of the light?

Yep. Right on the edge where the light would sit, so that the lip of the light held to the headliner. Only solution I could think of, and it works quite well.
