4" single exhaust sound @ WOT-- VID included

was at a good friends house just the other day for shot guns and four wheelers and such. he lives out in the middle of nowhere, and has some great roads to run the S on. decided to get a shot of my exhaust, so if you go with a 4" single, this is very close to how its going to sound. WOT from 2nd-4th redline.

and the ST's are AMAZING on country roads, couldnt be happier with how they perform.

exhaust setup is-- 3" ASP dp's merging into a single 4" with 2 magnaflow resonators.

thanks guys!! drone is not that bad. ive had guys ride with me and say," thats a single 4"?? not as bad as you would think..."... that being said. on the highway with cruise set on 80ish, it does get a bit annoying. a new head unit, front speakers and subs is the best help for that. just crank up the volume..

For me, a 4" exhaust is knowing there ain't ever a bottleneck... Not really for sound; I've been trying to quiet mine down for days!

well, you know your exhaust was the first one that i saw ever on youtube, so it def played a role in me making that decision to go that big..

he does, but you have to pay in €.. so..

nothing special on winter tires. you have to realize though, we get maybe 5 snowfalls a year of significant snowfall?? maybe?? nothing like you fellers up in CT. tire choice isnt as much of import down here, hell, ive never had a single problem getting around safely in my BFG's, even in 5"-6" of snow..

If anyone likes this sound and doesn't want the drone, go with the ASP 3" Dps and a Twin 1 AWE. It's what I had and it sounds every bit as ferocious as this one but has almost no drone. I LOVED IT!

i had a 3" magnaflow setup, went with the 4" to free up some horsepower. the 3" definitely was more tight sounding, but it sounded wonderful as well.

(Single GT35R in this video with 3"DP to 4" at the center of driveshaft with 1 borla race muffler)

I dont have any good ones of the s375 setup... i tore it back apart too fast. That one was full 4" from the turbo.

PS. bigern45, sorry for posting about FAW on your video, but that dude gets under my skin with hi urges to just start shit. What i said just came out. Couldnt help it. I would love to meet him someday.

Car sounds good tho. IM sure that it sounds way different/ nbetter in person as well.

Ridiculous sound. It sounds like an F1 car from far away! I feel like the single-turbo setups always end up sounding a bit more "exotic" than even big twins. Dunno why.

Its the way that the wastegates and manifolds are set up. Twin wastegates will be much quieter than a single wastegate because your only wasting energy from 3 cylinders per wastegate instead of six. The video above was a single wastegate setup and most other single turbo kits are as well. Big difference in sound. When I had twin wastegates on my divided manifold for my s375 setup it sounded the same as a big twin turbo car with dumped wastegates.

Ehh, it depends. I think it has more to do with the larger hotside than twin vs single. The 770Rs and S605s still use a small hotside.

Compared to my car and Ari which have larger hotsides and have a different sound.

This is a 3.5" exhaust, which IMO is the largest you need to go. No need at all for a 4" as there are no gains over 3.5" even at 800whp.

I watched that video after you mentioned it, and I honestly couldn't believe it. I was sitting at my computer with my mouth wide open at how much of a sniveling dickhead this guy is. Wow. I'm surprised a group from AZ hasn't beat the shit out of him yet
