as the title says..my rear tires are completely shot after less than 4000 miles, front ones are perfectly fine...but heres what the rears look like

when i hit a bump the rear end feels like it pulls to the side then settles... i got the alignment done right after i got the tires so i assumed that wouldnt be the issue. just changed the upper outer bushings and the sway bar end links (they both had a lot of play) on both sides. it feels like it might be a little better but not perfect...car is lowered on st coilovers. should i assume the place i got the alignment done at did a shit job (one of those cheap 50 dollar alignments) or should i keep searching for the culprit?

$50 dollar alignment? In 18 years of owning cars and working on cars, I have never heard of a $50 alignment. Even when I worked at a Pep Boys in 94-95, we charged $89 for an alignment. Get a real alignment and also check your air pressures to makes you are not over inflated.

This is what happened to my tires in less then a year of driving after my PSS9's were installed and after they "aligned" my car. Make sure you go to a trusted and honest place that will do an alignment the right way.

Town fair did mine, burned out some cheap used tires in about a month. Had a legit shop do my alignment when I got my new tires, cost me $90 and havne't had a problem since. They offered to redo it as i change from winter/spring heights for cheap for me since I got it done by them originally. Do it right or do it twice, I had to learn the hard way too.

Did they give you a print out of the specs before and after?

Not judging a book by its cover but i wouldn't expect $50 to buy much.

i wasn't expecting anything extraordinary. it's the same place that does 5 dollar state inspections (vs 25-35). the first place i went to (a local reputable tire shop) told me they couldnt get my car on the alignment rack without damaging my "body kit". i didnt expect anything perfect but i also had a lot of parts to put on so i was planning on getting it done again later..i just didnt expect them to go bad this quick.
would toe-out do this? i dont know if they even touched the rear toe angle... i just don't want it to be a rear suspension issue on my part before i go an throw a fit at this place

edit: yeah again i didnt expect much...but i mean DAAAAMN 3 months seriously, i bought these on tirerack before waterfest. just wondering if i should check anything else on the suspension before i go and get it done right

Let me put it to you this way.

Camber doesn't wear tires out. 100% true, will not wear out your tires. Camber will cause un-even wear, but proper rotation will solve your issue. (have the tires flipped every spring)

Toe is what causes excessive wear. The car is tracking perfectly straight but the tires are tracking slightly inwards causing your crazy tire wear.

The shop I took my car to gave me a digital printout of what each of my wheels was. 0 toe on all corners and I requested -2.5 for camber on all corners. The print out he gave me was spot on and I had to sign it for approval. If I didn't like it, he went back and fixed it.

Adding to the alignment debate, shouldn't the tires have a slight amount of toe in to prevent wandering, preload the suspension, and give the car more stability at speed?
