My keys cant start the car, I haven't drove it in a month or so but in the past. this haven't happened to me before. I cant even unlock the car, i have to take the "key" out to unlock the doors. and i cant start the car, and the brake pedals is pushed all the way down and will not come back up. What to do?

Umm... sounds like your battery died. Have you tried your other key?

Sounds like the actual battery in the car has died. If you push the key in, do any of the lights on the dash come on? If not, thats a good indicator that the battery is dead. As per the brake pedal, use the tip of your foot under the pedal and pull it back up towards you. If it doesnt stay up then it sounds like theres a leak in the system somewhere.

I've seen this once before on an A4 Avant. I cannot remember what was the problem, I want to say it had to do with the ignition. But like everyone else said try the battery first.

If not the battery, then it looks like you got the same issue that I had. My ignition module was faulty, and it had to be replaced.

Only difference, my remote work, except I cannot turn the car one. I can turn everything else on (MMI, lights, etc) but not the engine. I don't remember my brakes not coming back up though. It was funny now looking back, I was stuck at a gas station for 30 min trying to turn my car back on... then I got home. It didn't work again. Next morning (Saturday), I tried, it worked, and I drove it to the dealer right away. As I parked, I thought to myself "I probably shouldn't engage the parking brakes since you cannot disengage it without turning the car on", so I didn't engage it. Good thing because I found out afterward from the mechanics that they had to get 5-6 guys to push my car into the shop. At least I didn't have problem reproducing the problem haha. Good luck!

I got my car back Tuesday or Wednesday... got an A4 to drive around.. that was one week into my ownership.

I also had this same issue about a month ago. Car would start when it felt like it. Faulty wiring within the ignition. Dealer replaced wiring and no problems since.
