Problem installing JHM shifter, stripped bolt

I tried to install my new JHM short shifter and I ran into a really shitty problem. I got everything out until it came to the 6mm allen head bolt that connects the stock shifter assembly to the linkage. Simply put, the bolt is stripped-I can't turn it at all. I've tried using a long extension and putting a ton of pressure on it. I also tried using vice grips on it but it wont budge.

Shortly after I just got the car something happened to the shifter and I couldn't put it into reverse. Not knowing the car well yet, I brought it to the stealership. They basically fixed it and said that a bolt had come loose and they just put loc-tite on it and tighter it. This must have been the bolt they were talking about, so now I know its crazy-glued in.

How the hell can I get this bolt off?

I dont know exactly where it sits, so depending on space available I guess you try heating it and if that dont work, drill it out?

I know exactly what bolt you ate talking about. I never had a problem removing it, but it was a real bitch putting it back in. It literally took me about an hour and a half to get it back in. There is no room for two hands down there. I literally had to tape and glue tools together and glue the bolt to my tool to get it back in, then snap it back off the tool. Get inventive, and good luck. Sorry I couldn't help. Maybe post a picture of the bitch in question, and we can offer better support.

tighten it first to break the glue and then loosen it.
If it is like the VW, the rest of that linkage is plastic so you cant go at it with a torch.
If it is metal, drape wet rags over everything you dont want to get hot and hit it with a torch and then back it out (not the bolt, just what it threads into)

it's very tight, and almost at an angle to where you can hardly line it up correctly after you install you shifter to tighten it up. you might be able to get a dremil in there and slot over the top of the bolt and use a big long flat head to take it out, it's a pretty thick head on that bolt and might work.
