    headlight issue

hey guys, has this ever happened to anyone before. i wased the S4 for the first time last week, as i was drying the car i noticed condensation in one of the headlights. It took 4 days for it to completly dry out.

yesterday, it rained all day and the headlight was dry not a drop of water in it, this was after the car was sitting in the rain for 7 hours and after driving 10 miles in tha rain.

by the time i was able to bring it in to the dealer last week, the water was dried out, the only thing i had for the dealer was my pictures, so they want me to bring it back when a rep from AOA was there. the service advisor said he was going to run the car through the dealers car wash to see if they could replicate the water in the headlight...i dont know if i want the dealer to wash the car for me..lol

I know that foggy head lights is normal due to the design after rain, but i've never seen water spots in my headlight before.

Did you have your DRL's on when you were washing your car? It seems that theres only condensation over them and not the whole light assembly. Where are you located(part of country)? Wondering if the water you were washing the car with was a different temp of what was in the headlight and the hot DRL's created that misting on the inside.

Just throwing some things out there.

I get condensation on the same side and in the same way (around the DRLs) but it's not as pronounced. I haven't mentioned it to the dealer yet so I'm curious what they do for you.

no, all light were off at the time of wash but the DRLs were warm as i just came in from a drive brfore i washed the car. im located in NY and the outsede tamp was ablut 65-70degrees..

i guess anything is possible with the different temps, this is just the first time seeing something like this and in only one headlight.

ill keep you updated..like i said, went all day in the rain and it was dry even after driving in the rain. so if this doesnt happen again, i wont even bother bringing it back to the dealer.

I had this once, but like has already been mentioned, not nearly as bad as your pictures show. In my situation it was cooler outside and at the time, I guessed it was due to the warmer water in the car wash. Same deal - condensation on the one headlight only. After a few hours of driving around, the condensation was completely gone. I believe this has occurred a couple more times, but less condensation each time. Seal around housing seems fine, so not sure what is causing the issue.

ill give it a few more washes and see if i can repeat the issue. heavy rain yesterday didnt duplicate the issue. when i wash the car again, ill spray the light a different angles to see if i can find a leak somewhere.

Take the hi/lo bulbs out overnight and let the light housing fully dry parked inside if you can. If that does not work, drive for a few days with your lights fully on, not just DRL's, you need to get the housings warm to drive the water content out. The DRL's don't generate the temps you need, full lighting will.

Also, did you use a power washer? You may have got water into the light vent causing the excess condensation.

    Hope this helps!

i let it dry out by its self..it took 4 days to completly dry out. No, i used a regular hose to wash the car. by no means is it anywhere close to the to the pressure of a power washer.

im thinking water got into the vent some how. i dont even know where the light vent is.
