passenger footwell light

This light is causing me all sorts of confusion. I open my passenger door and the footwell light never turns on, so I assume its burnt out. I install my new LED lights that I got the other day, and they still don't turn on. I break out my circuit tester and see I have power running when the door is open. So I pull out the LED and clean the terminals a little and bam it works...for about 1 minute. Now I can't get it to rework so I see if maybe the bulb got burnt out so I swapped the drivers and passengers side lights to see that it works. I use my circuit tester again to see if its still working, and when I touch it to any metal part on the LED light, the light in my tester turns on. Clearly the LED is getting power into it, but just like with the old bulb, it just doesn't want to turn on!

i just fixed mine, mine had a cold weld on the pin to the leds, try heating up the solder worked for mine, i assume this is the one from kr auto right?

Is there a polarity to the LED's? If so you may need to flip them around.

Do the footwell lights dim like the others? LEDs dont like to dim.

Is it getting a constant voltage?

What are you seeing with a standard bulb in its place?

LED dim just like the halogens
They are not polar so they WILL work both ways.
Wedge style bulbs specially in doors and footwell are PITA sometimes. Make sure that before you put LED bulb im you press down on metal connectors where the bulb sits to make them closer together. After carefully plug the bulb in and test again. 99% of the time its connection between bulb and housing.

LED stands for light emitting diode. A diode only allows electricity to pass one way. when you use your circuit tester what are you grounding too? im guessing youre using the frame or something other than the second half of the circuit. I would clean out the socket with contact cleaner or just strip the wire and resolder into the socket.

Thanks I am avare of what and how LED works
These are "bipolar" and will work both ways. The way they are designed is that there are contacts on each side which allows them to be flipped 180 if needed

I just can't figure them out. I know its not a bad bulb because as I've said before, I keep switching the drivers side and passenger side bulb AND/OR housing and the drivers side always lights up and the passenger side lit up just so I could take a picture, and won't light up again.

make sure your door switch/button which makes them come on when door opens up and closes is in working condition. After some time button can stick and wont light up when door is open. Are your door lights come on when you open drivers door?

this may be a stupid question but where is the switch located? im having issues with my rear passenger footwell light and when i open the door the dome lights dont turn on either so i assume its the switch
