    Abstract n80 valve question

ok so if someone has an answer to this ill be shocked..but:

if you look at ECS for the N80, theres two 'options' .

1 the $60 one #058133517B ..which is the correct one

    2 the $15 option #06E906517A .. looks like a b7 valve i guess???

same looking clip, i only hope it uses the same signal. i assume its the revised version for the b7's? so .. putting aside "yes its technically the wrong part".... think it will work? any experience?

Long story short, i want to use the cheap one so i can put one over on the woman and order one of those neato trunk lip spoilers they have on sale with the "savings".. so this is a noble cause.

direct links wouldve helped...but im thinking no, it wont work.

they are both designed individually to work on either the 1.8t or the 2.0t.

meaning they are both set to a specific position internally. You could try and find out if it does...which would be cool b/c its so cheap.

this should be the actually replacement part number btw:

i thought the same thing with the 1.8 vs the 2.0. but then i thought its just opening and closing, sucking vapors out of the charcoal canister. as long as the signal to open/close remains the same im in business.

    and yes ** links!!!:
    the $15 one http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/N80_Purge/ES281033/
    the $60 one ECS gave me for a 2002 1.8t: http://www.ecstuning.com/Search_VW/058133517/ES277651/

so ...screw it ,, im just going to do it.

note: the idea to mess with this came from some thread research with guys complaining of a long term lean / rich .. whatever condition. they also described their babies being reinvigorated with the replacement of this valve. So here we are. Im guessing itll take a few driving cycles to recognize the new valve.
