My first car, 2012 A4!!

Hello everyone! I've being reading Audizine for about a month now and finally decided to signup as I should receive my A4 in the following 2-3 weeks. Getting pretty excited, since I've being waiting since august. I'm getting a 2012 A4 brilliant red, quattro 6spd, black interior with the must-have LED lights. It's a pretty basic A4, but it's my first car so I'm more than excited to be behind the wheel.



So far, I'm getting my windows tinted at 35% all around and I picked my new shoes, 19" TSW Nurburgring Matte gunmetal and chrome exhaust tips. And also a must for Ottawa, snow tires...



I want to do some changes, here's a few idea I had in mind:

-Lowering the suspension (as it may look a bit funny with my wheel and stock suspensions, but please keep in mind I live in Canada so we have lots of snow)
-VAG COM codes (pretty clueless on how to do them, either buy a rosstech cable, a knock off, go to a shop, dealer or audizine member in the area)
-Interior LED's and probably red LED's for the ambiance lighting
-HID Fog light
-Chip (once again clueless on which one to get)
-Cold air intake (might be useless)




Anyway information regarding the changes I had in mind would be greatly appreciated. Also suggestions on other modification, such as esthetics and performance would be awesome.

sounds good. I was just asking if anyone had suggestions for the VAGCOM in ottawa, chip and cold air intake. And I'm aware its being asked thousands of times.

i got a knockoff vagcom, don't update software if you do.

the chip i got APR, love it. stassis, giac, apr...all relatively the same. some people will root for either team, but there hasn't been any well-documented cases of either being all that batter. APR is the most popular, afaik.

Do you have any additionnal info on the vagcom knockoff? price and how difficult was it to use? For the chipping is was thinking APR stage 1. Noob question, does this void the warranty or its only a software upgrade and are they detectable by the dealership. Are they worth it and if I may ask, how much do they go for? Plus for a cold air intake, what do you think about this? Any info is going to be appreciated. big thanks hender!

it can void your warranty if discovered, but that's a big if. knock on wood, not too many people have had
issues. at the same time, be prepared for them to deny a warranty claim should they discover it.

CAI = meh. there's an APR intake out there, but it has had some reported perfect-fitment issues. i'll leave that to someone w/ experience.
search APR Intake and you'll be set.
personally, i'd find elsewhere to spend $400+

someone else will have to chime in w/ the vag-com. i don't know what's changed since the 2010 model, if anything. I got 908.1 and it works fine, check out dandebiz.com

For the vag-com, is the coding complicated? I dont need to be a computer geek to do this? I found a couple of tutorial on how to use them but overall from your experience are they worth it? I will verify if it will work on 2012 model.

Congrats, I just received my 2012 avant (first audi) and love it. i'm planning on getting the same wheel set up, where did you end up getting them from? What size and offset did you end up with 19x? et? Can't wait to see pics with them on your car.

I got them from Premier performance http://www.premierpartscanada.com/, they ship world wide i believe. I took them 3 weeks to get them from Arizona and they charged 1700$ less than another shop in Ottawa. They took care of pretty much everything, I told them TSW Nurburgring, Matte gunmetal 19"x8.5". they guarantee the proper offset and fitment.

There is a sticky devoted to suspension setups, give that a look. As for exhaust do a search and you will find what is available and what you like the sound of better. They have all been posted up many times.

sorry guys, in all honesty I don't want to point you in the right or wrong direction. stuff might have changed since 2010 and I would hate to link you to a cable that doesn't end up working on your cars. On the other hand, nothing might have changed and I'm just paranoid from smoking too much of the good stuff.

Maybe someone with an alternative VAG-COM cable can chime in with their experience for 2011/2012?

Finally got a confirmation from the dealership, the week of the 21st of November is when I will receive my car after almost 3 months and a half of waiting. I ordered my winter wheels and LED for the interior, going red and white. I will post pics as soon as I have my car!

im getting a revo tune and putting in my eurocode test pipe tomorrow. do something like that, or black out the grille.
