RPM's sticking around 1600-1700 and groan occurs at 1400 rpm (vid included)

Got the car back today. Cracked radiator, so they replaced and re-pressurized the coolant system. Everything seemed fine, until about 40 miles after I picked it up. I get a groan/rattle around 1400rpm and I noticed when I rev the engine, the rpm's drop at a constant speed until 1600-1700 where they catch and slow down significantly.

It occurs no matter if a/c is on or not, and when stationary and moving. Started to occur once the car was warm, but now does it when cold.

CLIFFNOTES:Took iPhone video of the problem....

    Thanks in advance guys

Zach, it appears to look normal to me. I think mine may hang up a second at that rpm also, but i can't be sure it that. I'll check it today. I really didn't hear the groan or rattle in your vid, however, you know your car better than I do. Maybe the dealer forgot to plug in a vacuum line and it's holding up your rpms.

Whatever the case is, please post when you figure it out.

I guess it's back to the dealer..... urgh!

*edit - just going to wait until something breaks or get MIL. Getting the dealer to diagnose this is going to be a pain!

Just realized that the dealer may have topped-off engine oil when the oil level was already at max. Would this cause a rattle/vibration between 1-2k rpm and when not on throttle (rpm's dropping)?

The oil is on the last line of the "m" on the dipstick. What would be the best way to remove just a tad bit of oil?

I personally would let it be. It's only a little but you can do what you want or tell them to correct the error they made, which was top off your oil when it was unnecessary.

You can't "let it be" Too much oil is often worse than too little oil. Easist method would be to get an extraction pump or fluid transfer kit. LEss than $50 at an auto part store. Stick the tube down the dip stick hole and suck out whatever amount necessary to get it back to normal range. Too much oil can be a HUGE problem if left alone. I wouldn't drive it, pick up the fluid extractor with a different car or get a ride from soneone.

already drove like 250-300 miles like this..... What damage could it have done?

either way, I replaced the oil filter and it's just at max when oil is cold..... But the problem is still there! urgh!
