I had HID fogs on my B7. I soldered in capacitors to prevent them from flickering (error code cancelers do the same thing i believe)

After I did that, no codes, no problems with heat and no problems with coming home feature.

Been running DDM foglights on my B6 for 2 years also, no issues. No warnings. And my coming home feature works just fine.

    35W kit. Can't vouch for a 55W kit though

I have a DDM kit fog (which I broke both bulbs when removing the bumper) AND it still won't give me an error on the dash.

PS does anyone know if i need to buy a whole new kit or if i just just get some new 3000K from them?

the morimoto ballasts also work fine with our wiring. i'd say try like hell to find H11R bulbs in efforts of reducing glare and getting a sharper cutoff, but i know they're hard to come by. projector retrofits for our fogs seem to be gaining popularity too.

Heath, you don't need the error eliminators for fogs. You've seen mine. They're just a straight up 35w kit.

That i cannot 100% answer. When I put in my HID fogs, they flickered, as did the lows, when the car was ON.
With the key only in ACC with engine off, they stayed on just fine.

Yes you can buy just bulbs.

As far as flickering, it's because you have a B7. You either need to do what you did or flip the harness. The B6 is plug and play no problems. Run 35w for less heat and just plug them right in. No need for error code things or resistors. I have done them to multiple B6's. Yes coming home still works just fine.

That sounds to me like the headlights/foglights where vibrating, causing the beam to flicker, this is different from the HID lamps light output flickering from cheap ballast or other the electrical aspect.
