I have been having some issues with my Synapse wastegate not allowing me to boost past about 19lbs so I ordered a Tial 38mm wastegate instead to try out. Its odd because I had no trouble boost past 30lbs on my old 1.8t setup with the same wastegate. I just need to find some time to fabricate the dump tube for the Tial since its a different size.

30psi might be a bit of a push though on the stock engine. A built block is definitely in the future but I don't want to push the limits of the stock cast pistons. Being on E85 should give me a bit of a safety net as far as cooling and timing advance/knock goes but even then shit can get scary. I'm probably only going to turn it up to somewhere around 23-25lbs to see where that puts me.

You running the same turbo as you did on the 1.8t? Maybe the Synapse can't cope to well with the added exhaust volume?

I have about .036" of clearance between the bottom of the keeper and the valve stem seal now which should be just enough.

Intercooler is working good. I'll take some IAT logs over the weekend so you can have an idea of how it works with the 35r.
Glad to hear your issues have been addressed. I would really appreciate you posting those logs. Thanks and awesome work here!

I'll have to check out the logs but I want to say the duty cycle was pretty low at around 65% or so.

Dyno'd again this past weekend with the boost turned a little bit up.

Boost was set at 29 psi and managed to pull off a 487whp/460ftlb dyno run. On the second run I increased the timing 2 degrees around 300kpa which netted a +11whp/+18ftlb change so there is definitely plenty more to be made with small tweaks on the setup.

Are you going to the track at all? Curious about what your ET/Trap looks like and your car's weight?

Honestly probably not this year but I would venture to guess it would trap somewhere in the mid-high 120's. Problem is that my 1-2 shift collar is a little sticky so it doesn't like quick 1-2 shifts.

I do want to get it weighed though. I'm guessing I shaved a few pounds from a stock S4. No front rebar, no AC, and wheels that weight 17 pounds a piece.

The car is pretty damn fast as it sits. I raced a friend of mine who owns a tuned F10 M5 (570whp) from 60-120 and was able to walk him pretty good.

Yes, Mustang dyno's typically read somewhere around 10% lower than dynojets. So figure 487whp x 1.10 and it would equal roughly 550whp on a dynojet.

Very cool! I was hanging around the Lugtronic's tent at Fall National's and their VR's were running mid/low 9's on E85. My buddies 6766 made a few passes with back syncros and still hit 120.

    What are your next plans?

All depends on how the dyno's are setup, even Mustang dyno's can be setup to read high. Plus 10% lower then a dyno would be a Dyno Dynamic and those read lower then a Mustang. In the end the numbers are what they are. Trap speeds on a good run is the true test. lol

I watched this video and completely forgot it was a VR6, which then made me really disappointed, because for a second I thought someone had somehow made a 1.8T sound amazing. =(

The clutch started slipping towards the end of summer 2013 so I decided to pull the engine and inspect what was going on. It seems as though either the rear main seal or the input shaft seal was leaking oil which in turn got onto the clutch disk. Replaced the seals and ordered up a new Spec Stage 5+ clutch with a super clamp pressure plate. If this mofo starts slipping its twin disk time.

I'm also re-doing some of my intercooler/intake piping, making a custom SS catch can, and in general just cleaning up things around the engine bay to make things a little bit cleaner. Should be a good year!
