So 2 weeks ago I took my S4 in for its 25k service, along with taking care of the water pump and thermostat recall. Yes, I was up to 25k mile with no water pump issues whatsoever. Last week while driving to work I noticed a MIL (engine light). No big deal, I called the dealer and arranged for them to pick up the car and leave a loaner for me. After they get the car they tell me that the MIL was from low coolant pressure. Sounds like it was related to the new pump or thermostat install he says. I got the car back Saturday morning and this morning my wife and I get in to take it out of town for the day. 15 minutes into the drive the damn light comes on again. So we turn around and swap out cars, leaving the S4 in the garage. Now I have to arrange another service visit - along with putting another 140 miles (round trip) on the car. Very frustrating, considering I didn't have any issues with the original pump and thermostat. I'm tempted to plug in the VAG and see exactly what it is but I'm too annoyed to right now.
Not to mention I also have to get my wife's car into the dealer for some other unscheduled maintenance. Sometimes I wish I drove a Honda Civic... Or at least lived in a town with a dealership!
