A4 B6 2001-2004 saloon 2.0 SE Petrol

My motor is doing something not very cool. When I press the clutch pedal the brake lights, including high level, illuminate. When I press the actual brake pedal the same happens. I hate thinking that people might think I am crazy flicking the stop lights all the time. I scanned the motor using VCDS but not DTCs. It brakes well. There are no lights in the dash. Any help suggestions please, this is doing my head in.

So people an Update to the initial post., Damn the brake lights were stressing me. I pulled out the brake switch today and put in a new one in.
Cost me £10.56 at the Stealership. No Joy at first, pulled out the clutch switch: £14.94 at the Stealership, Guess problem solved! Ha ha.
