I have a failed O2 sensor, Bank 2 Sensor 1. I've tried searching to find a DIY or even just some tips on replacing it. I've been able to figure out that its tough to get to, but not much else. Any help would be great. Thanks.

me too, theres nowhere that tells u u can take the sensor out without pulling the engine out, the heat shield is blocking my ratchet from getting it, but im sure there has to be a way to get the 02 without pulled the cat or sensor. there just has to be. it says u can attempt to remove it from the top of the engine without going under, but then again ull probably need some retarded angled ratchet

it is certainly not easy. Took a crows foot, extension, joint and more extensions to get at it. Found it easier to clip the wire off when unscrewing it. Drape a towel over the engine and get up as far as you can to look at the back of the engine. It took me quite a while to get it done but you don't need to remove the engine. Had i known before i started i would have taken it to a shop, it's not worth the effort to save a little cash.

I spent about 4 hours one Saturday trying to get out my front passenger side o2 sensor. Took the whole intake and throttle body just so I could reach the thing with my hands and even find it. Spent awhile longer with the crows foot and various extensions, u-joit and breaker bar...but couldn't bust it loose. Took it to an Indy shop about a half hour away and they took about 2 hours to remove it and put in the new one I supplied. Well worth the money on the labor on a 3.0 IMHO.
