    Hey guys,

Just a quick heads up as the rains have once again started here in Oregon as I'm sure they have in the rest of the north. I replaced my OEM wipers with the Bosch 3397118933 Aerotwin Set 22"/22".

    I believe these are OEM.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00141A4ZK $33.50 +free shipping

So the price is better that anything else I have seen. Enjoy, install is a 2 minute job and they work and look great.

    Cheers!

I am in the market for some new blades...So both fronts are the same size, 22"?

Thats uncommon, in most cars the passengers is slightly longer than the drivers.

Aquapel is the BOMB! I only ever found it from an Ok Tire shop in Quebec that had a side counter for all things euro, i've searched ebay, and even heard NAPA has it once in a while, but haven't found any since I bought my A4.

    Bump!

Well, not sure why some people say our blades are 21" (unless the US model varies?) but I can confirm both of mine were 22".

I had 2 choices, all season Rain-X wipers for $17 each, from Walmart....OR OEM all season wipers for $20 each, with my discount. Ultimately I went with the OEMs because they felt more durable and the plastic cover looks more clean than the Rain-X's...

$45 CDN out the door, taxes in. The guy said they only last 2 years or so....I hope hes wrong because they seems like an awfully short lifespan

My OEM's were Valeo. They were great. The car was new 3/2008 and I just replaced the blades this summer. I bought the exact same ones from TireRack...literally identical, same numbers printed on them and everything, yet these ones are already getting crappy. I might have to try the Bosch instead.

Shipping to Canada is expensive and I get 15% off parts from my local dealership so it's usually pretty close anyway

As for the blades, they don't seem to have any part # on them let alone an Audi logo so they are most likely Valeo (although it doesn't say that anywhere one them either and they came in a long Audi box). For durability, how many years do you guys think the OEM ones are usable for? Keep in mind I'd be using the same pair for winter and summer...switching em out every 2 years sounds too short

My OEM wipers lasted more than four years until I used the wipers when there was some ice on the windshield (should have scraped it off but got lazy) and the wipers streaked badly after that.

Ok...Just got these from Amazon yesterday night. How in the HELL do you get that horrid plastic piece off so you can actually get the bracket that fits our wipers....

Also, the manual says you just slide the metal piece off the wiper arm, remove the old wiper, install the new one, slide the metal piece back on? Is it that easy?

Anyways, PLEASE help with that stupid plastic housing!!!

The cap on the end pulls off like you are pulling the cap off of a pen. Pulls off in the same direction the wiper arm is pointing.

Got it now... these new Bosch wipers have a plastic housing that replaces the plastic/metal covers on the original wipers. At least, I couldn't figure out a way to fit the Audi cover over these wipers. I feel stupid for not figuring out how to install them earlier. Oh well, gotta learn somehow.

Here are the old plastic/metal Audi covers as previously mentioned. There is no way to put them back on over Bosch's new cover.

I was confused in the beginning too. I thought we had to reuse this, but the bosch ones already have a cover built it, only smaller.

I got the same bosch ones from the Dealership 2 years ago. They've been thru heavy snow, rain, mud, hail, and sleet. Still run perfect and clean my windshield streak free. However my friend put this rain-x spray on my windscreen last summer and i barely had to use my wipers because the water just beaded off so fast. However im sure that stuff has wore off by now.

I installed Bosch last week and shortly after broke the tab off one of the covers. I think it snapped because of the heavy/wet snow. If you look at the OEM cover pic above, you will see a tab sticking out of the right hand side. OEM is metal, Bosch is plastic. Bosch are fragile compared to the OEM and don't look as good. The difference can be seen clearly from inside the car and out.

I ordered OEM and will send the Bosch back to Amazon.

To make your wiper blades last longer and do a better job, wipe them down once in a while with denatured alcohol. It makes them more flexible and supple. We all like supple..

what year were you, you ever know Justin Kim?

    back on subject...
I think my blades work fine in normal to heavy rain, but when its just droplets my wipers leave streaks. Is that normal, or does that indicate I new new blades, or should I should spray some rain-x on the windshield?
