    In the Market for a 2011 B8 S4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

My dad is looking to pick up a 2011 B8 S4. He's open to either Premium Plus Or Prestige so long as it has the following options:

    -S-Tronic 7-Speed DSG Transmission
    -Nav w/ MMI
    -Carbon Fiber Inlays (Preffered)
-Sports Rear Diff (Or Audi Drive Select if price is reasonable)
    -Bang And Olfsen Sound
    -Black Silk Nappa Interior
-Color of Preference is Phantom Black, IBIS White or Silver
-19" Tri-Spoke Wheels or Titanium Pack
    -14k Miles or LESS

With the above listed as the "Options" my dad is holding out for, what would your guys opinion be on a fair price he should be looking at spending on either a Premium Plus or a Prestige package 2011 B8 S4

We know the Difference between the Premium Plus and the Prestige to be the following:

    -Push button Start
    -Adaptive Xenon Headlights
    -Rear Park Distance Sensors
    -Audi Smart Key

    Am I missing anything else??

He is currently looking at a 2011 Prestige B8 S4 w/ 12k Miles on it Phantom Black Paint, all options listed above inc. Audi Drive select. No Carbon Fiber inlays or Titanium Package. Price he's being offered is $50k. Deal or no Deal?

Any HELP or insight is greatly apprecaited!

    Thanks for looking!

    Travis

Without knowing the country and currency this deal is regarding, there's no way to know. I have no idea of how the current Canadian market is for these cars. Could be a great deal. Could be a horrible deal.

If American, it's too much for a car with 12K miles, IMO. You can purchase one new, with almost the same options for just a couple thousand more. I'd say have your dad negotiate it down to $46K and it starts to sound a lot better.

ill chime in since im from the same area and ive been looking for a s4, and 50k is a good price, im gonna assume its a private sale. if you go check out oakville audi for the same options they are asking 67k(which is bat shit crazy), but id say 50-55 is a good price, and private sale you can dodge some sales taxes too

Not really.... With those options that car stickers around $63k!

$50k is a definitely a fair price for a year old fully loaded S4 with only 12k miles, especially if it is certified through an Audi dealer.

I'll echo what's been said regarding source of the car. Since you refer to "Prestige", I assume you are talking about a US car since the Cdn market equivalent is "Premium". If that is the case, you probably have a fair deal, a couple thou less would be a very good deal. If you have not done your homework on importation, you've got another 6.1% duty plus transportation and another $500 or so for RIV and inspection.

If on the other hand you are speaking of a Cdn Premium vehicle so equipped with DSG, B&O, ADS (even if it's just Sport Diff), you've got a great deal. That car would have sold for around $66K / $68K depending w or w/o ADS.

Hey, checked out that car at Oakville Audi Actually. the word IMMACULATE doesn't do the car justice! That car is the Owners personal vehicle and he's come down to 61k + taxes which is just a tad bit out of my dad's budget.

This is what I've been thinking, most online dealers in the states want around 55K for vehicles with the same options.

Ya its a US vehicle were looking at, my dad is really good at doing his homework/math on what a 2011 S4 market value should be etc.. according to his math he is saying he shouldn't be paying more than 48K for a Prestige w/ the options he's looking at. The dealer he is negotiating with currently for the Pantom Black 2011 S4 w/ 12k they aren't budging on 50k and one thing i've noticed is that the car has a 2010 production date..... which leads me to wonder if we could run into problems with this vehicle if we got it??

I have a 2012 and it has a 2011 production date. That is quite normal. 5-6 months before year end you get the next years model being produced...

That's a pretty specific wish list for a pre-owned car. If he doesn't order new and finds something close I wouldn't quibble over a few thousand bucks. Good luck with the search. Better yet, tell your Dad to register - this forum is a great resource.

Well you've got more choice looking in the US for sure and if he's particular, it's the only way to go. I got my lightly used RS4 out of Dallas, worked out very nice. With the S4, I decided to buy new since the price gap had narrowed a ton and I felt it wasn't worth the effort and risk to buy in the US. Don't forget that you will lose on re-sale selling a US sourced car in Canada. Not logical but it is true. A used car buyer discounts for risk and a US import implies additional risk.

Same! Price diff was maybe a few $K but after considering with RIV fee, temp plates, and transport, it would have been close and I would still take a hit on resale.
