    Help with key...

Ok so ive looked and looked but nothing has worked!

I got home from work and wanted to change my old beat up key fob's body into this new one ive had laying around! I took the fob apart and left the half of it that is holding the chip alone because i didnt want to fck anything up, i only changed out the upper half that holds the key. Then i assembled it all back together and went to see if everything worked... and of course it didn't. So i reprogrammed it by turning the key in acc mode and holding the unlock button for 5-10 seconds.
yay it worked now the car locks and unlocks... but THENNN i tried starting the car and it starts and shuts off after a second.
Honestly i have no idea what to do and i regret all this now but its to late. This is the only key i have for the car so i dont know about getting to work tmrw

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you forget to swap the immobilizer (rfid) chip into your new fob? Little tiny glass pill-shaped thing embedded in the key end of the fob.

Actually now I ended up flipping it all back together so I could get to work. But yes I did see that glass tube. Would I be able to take that out and re apply it to the newer fob

yep you can move that over carefully, there are howto's that specify how to do it as well. My question is, is there any way to replicate that glass tube somehow? With the same code? that would be a cheap way to make spare keys (if there is an easy way)
