    Tapedeck problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Around my house they removed a big slab of the road without indicating it was there. So, I was going around 60mph and ran over it causing a big bump and ever since then my tape deck has stopped working. Once I put the tape it in it just keeps flipping sides for like 5-6 times then just ejects the tape.. I wouldn't really care usually becuase its 2011 and who really uses tapes? but i do :(. I use it for my cassette adapter for my iphone. I purchased a new casette hoping the old one was the problem but it wasn't, so I am curious on how I can go about fixing this now. Anyone have any ideas? Should i just say screw it and buy one of those iPod Aux installers? Which one do you recommend for a 2003 a4?

You can buy a refurb Symphony2 from ECS for like $40. Sounds weird that only the tape deck would break though. Everything else works fine? CDs?

Yep cds work fine, radio works ok ( fm hasn't worked for a while, but am is fine ) so no change.. But tape just keeps flipping sides over and over until it ejects, should have put that in the original message.

It really is unfortunate because that's all I really listen to is my iPhone. Without that I basically have zero music. Can't drive with no music, I'll go insane.

I have a DICE SAT/iPod kit that I would hesitate to recommend since it installs in the trunk and it doesnt work properly when connected inline with the SAT reciever (which is its whole point of being, so its rather pointless). I would look here and get whichever one floats your boat. A few people the "Dice Electronics i-Audi-R/5V" and have given pretty positive reviews. Dension makes good stuff as well. just make sure you have radio keys you pull your radio out to install. And there are a few DIYs for install on AZ or a4mods that can walk you through this stuff. Its fairly straightforward.

Edit: also some of the cheaper boxes just provide an AUX headphone jack which works absolutely fine if you don't mind controlling your music through the ipod.

Audi A4/S4 B6 Symphony II Radio

This is a BRAND NEW Genuine Audi Symphony II radio. It came as original equipment on 2002 to 2005 Audi A4/S4 B6 (8E0035195A). It comes with a AM/FM stereo radio, cassette, and a built-in 6-disc CD changer. It works with Bose speakers but you may need to have the unit coded to your vehicle to activate the Bose features. The radio comes with the unique anti-theft code. Audi tools required to remove and install the radio are sold separately. See related products.

This is a blowout special price and it will not last for long. Please note the part number before ordering.

I think the 2.0L+BAT makes the car sound like a whole different animal. It has a much more pronounced growl, unlike the anemic 1.8.

Unfortunately though, since I have no resonators the freaking exhaust rattles and makes some weird noises. I need to raise the damn thing up and see what's wrong with it.

    I wish I were 2L

I'd say "maybe one day" but I think I'd rather spend that money on an engine swap first. Or a 996 and an Alpha 28 kit.

Well yours does sound significantly more badass than mine. I just don't feel the need to drop $1k on a "sound mod" essentially (I know theres more to it, but yea). I just cant justify it to myself. Thats just me though, and I wish I could get it I just don't see the value in it at this point.

As far as going 2l, again I don't see the point. I mean I love my b6, but I don't know. after driving my G, I don't think I'll ever feel the effortless power that thing makes in a 1.8t. I really do like my b6 better, but the power side is lacking definitely.

I recommed upgrading to a Symphony II+ HU, it has AUX input controlled by using the CD button to cycle between the CD and the AUX input. The Sym II+ has a lot better digital amp with more output power and sounds a lot better, with cleaner sound and wider dynamic range, than the Sym II, especially with upgraded front door speakers. I'm running Infinity Kappas, 2 Ohm, front channels direct from the Sym II+, with the center in dash speaker disabled.

OP uses a cassette adapter for his iPhone.

I still have an awful 14-year-old tape from high school that I sometimes listen to when I want to remind myself how bad my taste in music used to be.
