AFE pro dry filter. Good flow without the oil. Just shake it out to clean to clean!

I had a K&N that I ran dry. Swapped it out for a stocker and I noticed no difference. Go for the extra filteration

OEM paper is sufficient. I would prefer engine longevity to an extra 3hp.

idk, I think 3hp isnt fair with some of the filters. The ITG is definitely good for -10hp after it clogs up a month after install.
You represent the idiocy of today.

Whatever you do, PLEASE let me have your old filter. I'd like to use it for testing (test to see exactly how much obstruction a dirty filter actually causes). Thanks

AFE does not list a pro dry for the S4. I just got one for my Chevy Silvarado 2500HD Duramax...hope it performs good.

Yesterday, I had my mechanic installing some pads and rotors I got form JHM. I talked him down to $80 and I did not have to even get my hands dirty. Anyway, he saw my K&N filter in the box of goodies from JHM and advised me not to use the K&N on the B7 S4. He said the MAS Air sensor (?) is right past the air filter and the sensor will get the K&N oil on it and foul the sensor. He said it does not take much. Anybody else ever hear of this? I hate to send it back if it is an exaggeration. Then again, I hate to trash it after trashing my sensor. Any real-world advice will be welcome. Thanks.

I think that concern is valid but tends to be over-exaggerated. You have to be a real moron and just dump tons of oil on the filter for that to happen. There is a growing market of "dry flow" filters that do not rely on oil, but again their filtration doesn't seem to match that of the OEM paper.
