    Question Regarding Flywheel Installation

    Hello everyone,

I removed the flywheel from my engine Sunday and sent it out today to VAST to be returned for a resurfaced one and Stage IV clutch. I was trying to find some guides on removing the turbochargers (passenger's side turbocharger is kicking my ass) and ran across some text saying to mark the flywheel's orientation before removing, as there are two sets of two holes closer to eachother than the others. I did NOT mark my flywheel, or note the orientation. I have the crankshaft locked at TDC via the crank-lock pin. I also came across some text saying not to use the torque specification found in the Bentley manual.

    My three questions are:
    1. Is there a certain way the flywheel should be oriented when installing?
    2. What is the correct torque specification... 60Nm + 180° or 60Nm + 45°?
    3. Pressure plate torque is 20Nm, correct?

    Thanks,
    Brett

Also, if anyone has a link to an in-depth turbocharger removal guide, it'd be greatly appreciated... because I can't get a fudging 19mm wrench around the inner banjo on the passenger's side turbocharger.

Are you doing your rear crankshaft seal while your in there? Stage IV clutch ehh? What are you upgrading your turbos to?

Sorry, can't comment on torque specs since I have a similiar question. I recall reading some text saying 60nm then 90 degreeand then 90 degree again ( in 2 stages) but don't quote me on that.

Good stuff! I'll go with that torque specification along with their recommendation of 30Nm for the clutch bolts.

Car will Frankenturbos, dialed in around 400AWHP. And yes, rear crank flange seal will be replaced. It arrived today with my 01E rebuild kit from AAM.
