    Front end noises.

    I have 2 different noises coming from the front end of my A4 and I don't know what they are. I would rather find some info on here than take it to the stealership for their diagnosis.

    Sound #1 **-While going 2-5mph with my foot on the brake I turn my steering wheel all the way to the right and hear a "grinding" type noise. I also get a little feedback from the brake pedal when this happens. This happens every morning when I pull out of my garage. During normal driving and turning I don't hear or feel anything.
    <br>
    Sound #2 **- With my car in either Drive or Reverse and sitting still with my foot on the brake I get a loud rattle type noise from the engine bay. While driving 10+mph I don't hear the rattle at all. I know the 2.0 turbo engine kinda has a little noise/vibration to it, but this has gotten worse. It's not making this noise 100% of the time. Each time I get someone to help me it doesn't make the noise. I've checked the engine bay for anything that might be loose but I haven't found anything yet.

    I have a '06 A4 (B7) Triptronic 2.0T Quattro with 74,000mi. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Maybe your running after market wheels and they rub with the wheel 100% turned. Mine do this...

    The first noise could be a few things? How are your motor mounts anyways...

    Thanks for the reply DRAKLORE. Sound #1-** I am running factory 17" wheels and tires. I've never had this problem before. It just started within the last 2 weeks. I'm doing coil-overs and wheel spacers (possibly) this weekend so my friend and I can check out for any abnormal wear and tear. As far as Sound #2, I have never checked my engine mounts before. Just today on the way home for lunch and the way back I never heard the rattle type noise from the engine??

    FYI.....you have a nice looking car!

    cv joint? maybe. I havent heard of that being a big issue on our cars but that or maybe hub bearings sounds right for the turning grinding. Also, just for the hell of it, when the car is cold, run your fingers on the rotors and if they dont feel like glass, that could be the issue.

    Engine mount? Inspect your car from underneath.
