DSG not shifting and running into rev limiter?!?!

Howdy,

I have a 2011 S4 with the DSG and I seem to have the opposite problem most people are reporting. In 1st gear under heavy acceleration (WOT or close to it) in "D" my car will run right into the rev limiter and refuse to shift...fuel supply gets cut back, car bucks and hesitates for a few seconds, then slams into 2nd gear. What's really strange is the tach stays pegged at 8k RPM until the tranny finally shifts into 3rd. No check engine lights, no warning messages, and otherwise the car seems to run perfectly fine. Haven't tried to see if it happens in "S" or "M" yet.

Anybody else have this happen? Thoughts on software versus hardware issue? I'd like to at least give my dealer a place to start looking when it goes in for the 5K mile service next week.

Happened to me before, but not in "D", only in manual mode. If it's happening to you in "D", get it checked out.

ive had the weird "tach to 8k" bug. I think it's just that - a bug

Thanks for the link! Every other thread I saw about DSG shifting issues complained about the transmission shifting well before red line.

Mine seems to do this sometimes in D while turning a corner (entering road from drive, etc). I have also had the tach stick at 8k after the shift and catch up in third gear. Other times, it shifts early like everyone else.
