Howdy,
I have a 2011 S4 with the DSG and I seem to have the opposite problem most people are reporting. In 1st gear under heavy acceleration (WOT or close to it) in "D" my car will run right into the rev limiter and refuse to shift...fuel supply gets cut back, car bucks and hesitates for a few seconds, then slams into 2nd gear. What's really strange is the tach stays pegged at 8k RPM until the tranny finally shifts into 3rd. No check engine lights, no warning messages, and otherwise the car seems to run perfectly fine. Haven't tried to see if it happens in "S" or "M" yet.
Anybody else have this happen? Thoughts on software versus hardware issue? I'd like to at least give my dealer a place to start looking when it goes in for the 5K mile service next week.
