Great find. Splice the harness to delete the ICMs, plus coils roughly $19 each, plus Touareg adapters $5 each. Around $200 total. Not bad at all!

Intergrated Engineering - spacers for coils - NO GOOD

I bought the red Bosch coils and red anodized spacers from Intergrated Engineering.
Very disappointed: I have no idea why in the world they did not make the spacer shape so that it covers up the (almost square) plug holes (like the 034 spacers seem to do). Now I have these ugly incovered holes in the corners.

Either they send me the wrong ones for my 1.8T AEB, or their designer has never seen an AEB engine.

It looks like THIS is what they should have shipped:

    Re: Teaser 2.0T Coil packs...

I am curious to know how long the leads are and if the wire is of good quality. Please let us know when you get them.

If not, I will try to track down a 3.0L harness. The way the engine wiring wraps around there should be more than enough for the job if you hack it at the ECU box.

Has anyone considered crimping on the Volvo ends and making this plug and play? Additional cost and connections, but it would be clean and simple.

I know the wires are about a foot long. (someone else on here already used those connectors) I'll let you know about the quality. Shouldn't be difficult to track down a 3.0 harness though.

I'm just going to eliminate the ICM plugs all together. Just cut, splice and heat shrink the wires. No plugs at all. :)

Are you going to do the corresponding ecu mods for the 2.0 coils?

Has anyone put together a new 'value' kit as of late?

    1. best place to get the 2.0 coils?
    2. best place to get the spacers? ($5/pc at genuineaudiparts.com or $10/pc for custom aluminum from member here)
    3. best place to get the Volvo parts for the ICM delete?
    4. best place to get the connections? (http://www.onlinewholesaleparts.com/vwicc-004.html or ABC MARTS on eBay)

Think your list sums up the cheapest parts right now, the coils you might as well get from gap also if your getting the spacers, to save on shipping, i found they were the cheapest at the time also.
for the volvo parts, you can just splice the wires together, so bascilly no cost there.

    6x coils @ 17.50 =105
    6 harness plugs =55
    6 adapters= 30

mod for under 200 now, wow.

Coils are also available from RockAuto for $15 if you really want to go cheap, but not OEM. Probably Chinese. :)

I just figured since I'd found a great price already, I'd throw a low offer to the Ebay seller. I didn't think they'd go for it, or they would at least counter.... but sometimes you just luck out.

dd - are you referring to using the spark dwell table (KFSZT - voltage/rpm) from a 2.0TFSI file? Or are there other tables listed below that need to be considered as well?

Is anyone having problems running the FSI coil conversion without making changes to spark duration maps in your file? Cold start problems? Blowing Coil Packs? Other oddities?

I thought the 034 kit was just a direct bolt on with no wiring? So I am having trouble understanding what you did with the harness from ecstuning. Why do I need the harness, why cant you just switch everything with the 034 kit? Sorry may be a newb question

Good find. It makes sense to adjust the spark dwell, maybe make the coils last longer. But I guess people aren't having any problems leaving it stock.

I liked this way of sealing it off with the plastic adapters.

I got the coil connectors I ordered, they're very good quality. Wires are about 8-9" long and they came with heat shrink butt connectors. Shipped from inside US. BTW: There's a two week wait for the Touareg plastic coil adapters since the part number hit the forums. :) They have to come out of Deuchland.

Sweet! I am definitely getting it then!

And I know it has been discussed before but In each thread about it there are different answers. What sparkplugs should i get and spacing should I run? I plan on going stage 2 and then F21 Stage 3, do I need different spacing for stage 2 and stage 3?

And with them being a direct bolt on it deletes ICM?

    Thanks.

Full 034 conversion costs upwards of $600, this method costs less than $200.

After seeing the gap the Toureg spacers leave, I would be more inclined to purchse the aluminum ones the AZ member makes for $10/pop.

I've got a set of these Touareg adapters if anyone is looking. PM me.

Got mine from ABC Marts (ebay seller) last night as well. Same product as below, shipped from the same location in Pompano Beach, FL. I agree on the quality: They should do the job.
