OEM B7 S4 wheels for winter setup

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I would appreciate feedback as to whether a set of OEM 18" wheels from a B7 S4 would fit my 2008 RS4. These 18" OEM wheels already have all-season 235/40/18 tires mounted. I was using them during the rain months for my B7 S4 Avant. If they fit, I plan to use them for my winter setup on my RS4.

    Thanks.

"check et" ? There's nothing really to check if they're oem. The ET will be very high/larger number than is going to look right on the RS4, possibly not even clear the brakes in terms of depth. A spacer is going to be desirable in this instance seeing as the wheel is first, sunk in to fit an S4 fender as well as an inch narrower than the RS4 wheels. Even if they bolt on and don't hit the brake face, they will look like some weird temporary spare inside the deep rs4 fenders. The inverse of trying to stuff an rs4 wheel into an s4 resulting in serious poke.

Likely they are et 45ish. I agree they will need spacers. I have the 18" oem Avus wheels as my winters on my S4 and even on the S4 they look stuffed way in and dorky compared to the et 35 summer wheels.

Thanks. I live ind CA and only use the car to go to the snow in Lake Tahoe maybe twice or three times a year. These are the occasions when I would put on my winter setup. Otherwise, I run summer tires the rest of the year. Thus, how the wheels look on the car does not matter much. I just need a setup that's functional and safe.

I guess I can remove one front wheel and see whether the S4 OEM 18" would fit and clear the break caliper.

Were you able to test fit the S4 wheel on the front to check for caliper clearance yet?

I have some S4 anniversary wheels that I use for my winters. The offset of a stock wheel will not clear and I use 20mm MTM spacers (that's 20 per wheel, so the 40mm MTM set). The wheel is still inset slightly from fender compared to stock (just a visual niggle), but they fit just fine.

I tried one wheel and it did not clear the front brake caliper. I am guessing that a 10mm spacer would provide the necessary clearance.
