Thanks for the firmware instructions. Does anyone know how to make it work so that the phone and tune2air work simultaneously without having to pair the blue tooth back to the phone when wanting to use it to make calls

Tune2air has been a big disappointment on my 2012 s4 with nav. When it's connected and I use my s4 galaxy bluetooth phone the audio is crackling and almost inaudible. Horrible

I guess Air2tune will solve the Bluetooth audio streaming on my buddy's 2012 A4 S line. Awesome discussion. Lots of info and details.

You don't have to pair, just turn off Bluetooth on Mmi. I can flip Bluetooth on and connect my call in a pretty reasonable period. I probably listen to music 95% of the time, so this is fine for me.

this may have been mentioned somewhere but I haven't seen it. Has anyone looked onto replacing the electronics that carry the bluetooth?? I have a 2012 S4 and my cousin a 2014 S4 with stock steaming. I don't know what would need to be replaced from a 2014 to make this work. He also has the outlet in the glove box as I do.

I REALLY missed this from my 2011 Mustang GT. The Ford Microsoft SYNC was very advanced, but I no longer miss it anymore. Again, very happy.
Care to share the link where you purchased your Tune2Air? Glad you're happy with it I want to be happy too 😁

So I got the Tune2Air and for the first several weeks it worked really well; played music when connected and swapped to Audi voice call when a person called. But now I am getting interference or something that is causing the phone calls to come in very choppy and inaudible. Has anyone had this problem and come up with a solution?

Also have we heard any update on whether or not there is some sort of Audi software upgrade to add in Bluetooth streaming capability? I have no interest in using my own phones music as I stream from Spotify and have my music library on there.

Also I looked at the DIY for Aux installation into the arm rest but I am looking for a simpler option if available as I do not have much time to work on my car right now. If it's a necessity to get this to work I will put in the time.

Has anyone had any aftermarket products or luck with streaming without having to connect via AUDI Media center? I understand I could get an aftermarket radio to solve both the AUX and USB but I like the clean stock look.

Lastly if anyone has a thread on USB installation I would greatly appreciate it.

I got it to work via miztahsparklez advice. Rebooted phone and it worked for now. However I'm still open to suggestions for other options besides the tune2air

I received my Tune2Air 4 days ago here's what I've got to say about it:
    (2010 S4)
Easy to install, paired with iPhone no problem, however when I started to stream music I had some kind of interference so I had to turn off Bluetooth on CAR. After that sound was crisp on all notes.
-I do not like is that every-time I get in the vehicle "My Music" as in music stored on my iPhone starts playing instead of streaming my Pandora regardless of having the App open in background.
I mainly stream music from Pandora, I only have a couple random "sampler" songs I got for free in my iPhone library and it is quite annoying that I have to open Pandora and manually press play on the station I have loaded.
-Another issue is as the music from my library starts playing, full song info loads fine, however when I start Pandora manually sometimes it loads song info and sometimes not, and when it does, it does not refresh info for the "next" song after first one ends playing.
-And lastly if I want to skip a song using the "Controls" on the MMI instead of skipping to next song on Pandora it plays the next song on "My Library" and have to manually go back to Pandora press play and then skip to next song.

Quite frustrating but if you can live with all these little software flaws this is by far the best and easiest option to solve Audi's lack of initiative to give us a MMI update.

Here's where I ordered mine from, listing says "Used" however I receive a brand new sealed one in original package.
    http://www.amazon.com/ViseeO-Tune2Ai...ilpage_o00_s00

Hope this helps for you all.

Some of those things you said are related to the MMI doing those things. If you plug in a cable direct to your phone, it does similar stuff.

I'm thinking about getting something like this. What is the difference between the tune2air and coolstream car pro? Are people having to turn off the car bluetooth to get streaming? Anything else I should know?

This is for a 2012 B8 and currently an iphone 6

Does anyone have any feedback? I hadn't heard of the coolstream until I looked on Amazon. It seems like these adapters can have issues with the standard hands-free functionality, and the reviews are inconsistent (for both products).

The interferience is caused by the Car Bluetooth, some people have it, some luckily don't, you won't know til you try it yourself. But this is by far the easiest and fastest way to get your music streaming into your car. So if you can deal with fact of not using the Car's phone function I'd say go ahead and give the Tune2Air a try.

I have my phone set to use MMI Bluetooth for calls and Tune2Air for media audio. I can still use the car's voice commands to call people. You can have both.

I had my iPhone 6 paired with the car MMI Bluetooth (Phone) also but when I personally paired with the Tune2Air, the music streaming was "choppy" (interference) and I've read that this usually happens on previous post on here so I knew what to do right away; so I turned off Bluetooth on MMI and the problem was solved.
As I said on the previous post some users experienced this problems some didn't like yourself Audistealth so lucky you man.
I would put money on the issue being caused by the Car's Bluetooth hardware/firmware on the different manufacturing year so there's that.

Just to confirm, this does not work in the b8 Audi, it lights up but will not connect to the audi system. Your phone can connect to it but you will have no sound. I'll still be on the search for a cheap one and let you guys know what I find!

Sometimes my Tune2Air looks like that. A 3-button MMI reboot fixes that.

Check your manual. There is a 3 fingered procedure to do it but I'm not sure if its the same for B8 and B8.5.

Thanks for the updates. I use the MMI bluetooth for speakerphone regularly, and I really need it to be compatible. My car and my phone sometimes have issues with the bluetooth, where the radio volume drops when the phone rings, but the speakerphone functionality doesn't quite connect. The only way to fix it is calling them back. It's like there is a hiccup in the connection.

I wonder if that is an indicator of more trouble if I add one of these solutions.

Hey guys just checking in to give my two cents. I recently purchased a b8 s4 and fell among the ranks with everyone else who was floored about the lack of BT integration. I did a bit of research and this is what worked for me. I literally got it working with just the adapter and 5 minutes of watching thee videos.

I bought the 30-pin Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP Receiver from http://a2dp4audi.com/ .. just the module though not the cable.

Then I followed the directions on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZyJFdWLKYA the guy basically switches the way the car utilizes the information coming from the cable. I kind of equated it to almost jailbreaking the Audi MMI system. You don't need any outside formatting systems, just follow the video

To reach that green menu I followed this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36uYU2Uj6ng .. mind you I've only had the car for about a week and have zero experience with this and I was able to do it. I promise it is not difficult. Give it a shot!

Hey check my most recent post if this is still causing you issues.

Some things have changed since this thread started almost 5 years ago, and you didn't give the model year of your car or the version of your MMI. This is probably not 100% correct, I don't remember the details, but basically it goes like this:

MMI 2G: Requires Audi OEM or aftermarket receiver and cable
MMI 3G: Requires aftermarket receiver and cable (2G Audi OEM receiver won't work, no OEM option available)
MMI 3G+: Requires aftermarket receiver and MMI hidden menu changes (not nearly the same thing as Jailbreaking an iPhone)
MMI newest versions (I don't know what their nickname is): Comes standard, no aftermarket options needed

3G high(nav is from HDD, not from inserted media like dvd or sdcard!, if you check your mmi version under setup, settings, scroll down, version information, there will be HNav....

You have like this HNav(numbers may be different)!

    Update

I'm going bald trying to figure out how to stream Spotify in my 2012 Audi s4 with navi (I believe this means its the 3G).

I got the Bovee 1000 (which I assume is the tune2air as this link took me too the Bovee http://www.amazon.com/ViseeO-WMA1000...=5336106933-20)

Plugged the Bovee into that prehistoric iPod/iphone connector in my glovebox, connected it to my iPhone 6 and selected iPhone from my cars MMI.

It just says "Loading..." but never loads anything to the screen. I can play songs through Spotify by controlling through my phone. The big problem is that I can barely hear the music even when both the Audi and the phone's volume are all the way up. The audi's volume control doesnt increase not matter how high I crank it up, so the only way to control it is the phone, but again I can barely hear it anyway.

I am doing something wrong? Do I need a different product? I'm using an iPhone 6 so I'm thinking maybe I need the Bovee WMA3000? Anyone else have this problem? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I've experienced the same problem with my Fiance's iPhone 6S, but I'm using the CarPro adapter. It worked fine one time and ever since then I haven't been able to get it to function properly. Playing from 'Music' or Spotify results in extremely low volume despite phone volume being all the way up. The only thing I can think of is an iOS update changed something in the bluetooth stack for these devices (iPhone 6 and higher). The reason I say that is that my iPhone SE works without issue. I wish there was a way to get a software or firmware update for the CarPro adapter, assuming the issue could be fixed that way.

Hey risc thanks for the response and sorry to hear you also ran into the same issue. Here's what I have done with my iphone6 and it kinda works. First you need to make sure you have the generic music app with at least one itunes song on the phone (I didn't initially as I never use it). Second I reset the phone (hold the power and menu button until you see the apple screen). Plugged it in and it will play the itunes music initially, which will also show up on the MMI screen. Open Spotify and it will start playing Spotify. However the MMI screen will still show you playing your itunes music, not spotify and you will need to control everything on your phone. It's definitely not good but it works most of the time (sometimes I get a glitch where it will start playing other songs randomly).

Interesting, thank you for the update. I'll have to play around with it this weekend. Really surprising to me how finicky these adapters seem to be.

I know right. I can't believe no one (@AUDI) has come up with a simple reliable solution for this problem considering the demand. Anyway, best of luck man

I travel for business a lot so I'm *always* in tons of random rental cars.. While most have streaming BT functionality - a LOT of them I get the same issues you guys are discussing on my iPhone 7.. I'll get my single iTunes song to start playing upon connection (which is some awful old Run DMC song), then sometimes it will kick over a podcast, then if I switch to Spotify I'll get one of any of the previously mentioned controls for the screen. Even brand new 2017 models with streaming BT built in still has a lot of these challenges. I'd guess it's phone related and less BT connector related.

It should work for you. Have you tried to unpair the two devices and re pair it again?

I have a 2012 S4 with nav and I use the Tune2air3000. Works perfectly. All vehicle controls work (volume, skip track, pause, etc). Every time I get in the car it loads automatically within a second or two and I don't have to press anything.
I'm currently using the iPhone 6s, but it worked fine with my 5s as well.

If unpairing your device and reconnecting it doesn't work, just buy the tune2air3000 from Amazon for $70.
