I bought the V-checker from ECS ( but you have it cheaper on the link posted before in the thread) and i work great.
I can check ALL module, erase errors, recode ECU and adptations. It's not easy as Vag Com, but it's small enough to carry in my glove box, no need for a PC.

I didn't recode anything for the headlights yet on mine and my DRLs = fogs + city lights + turn signals always on, also tail lights are always on.

I thought this was "Canada" coding. (Halogen btw)

Hey, i got my headlights and the halogen to xenon module.
i have the vag cable, do you know wich module i need to go into and change the code from halogens to xenon in a EU B7 Model?

I understand what you're saying. But the fact is that the powers that be at Audizine see discussing bootleg software and/or cables that allow full use of Ross Tech's software as illegal and consider it their duty to police us - discussing it, not doing it which, of course IS illegal. If we continue to discuss backdoor ways to use the unlimited capabilities of the software they'll pull the thread like they did before. Thus, denying everyone access to this information.

While I may, or may not, agree with this and see these discussions as no different than the countless threads and videos discussing street racing - which is surely illegal most everywhere - it's their board and our choice is either to live by their rules or leave. The information in this thread is very helpful to people who want to use the eBay cables and VCDS-Lite software as intended and we should do what we can to make sure it stays available.

I seem to remember that in one thread or another there was a question on whether the dashboard headlight indicator mod worked with halogen lights. Just wanted to post that it does work.

i have a b7 2006 a4 and vcds for some reason it wont read the engine module and airbags but itl conect to the radio the cluster and some other things can any1 help??? i have a aftermarket radio but i take it off and put the stock radio in to connect.
the test runs fine to me i just dont know what goin on the only person whos ever touched the car is the dealer and i guess they can scan and why cant i? I run the test but it seems fine to me

When my car comes back from getting its cam/HPFP/cam follower replaced i'm going to figure this one out.

I want to change my headlights from halogen to original Bi-Xenon and im using EU car from Sweden.
Wich of these codes do i need to change????

Step 3a (XENON):
Change the Software Coding to "01021" and click the [Do It!] button to recode this module. If you want to revert back to the original coding, use "01023".

Step 3b (HALOGEN):
Change the Software Coding to "01001" and click the [Do It!] button to recode the module. If you want to revert back to the original coding, use "01003".
Is it Step 3A or is it Step 3B??


EDIT: I'm trying fto figure it out so if i use halogen and want to change to xenon without DRL it should be on module 9 and change the ###31?

I think you answered your own question correctly. I assume you mean you swapped from halogen housings to bixenon housings, correct? So then you need to use the bixenon coding, step 3A as you show them. You specify a car from Sweden, so the code should be xxx31.

Euro Headlights & DRL
Module 09 (Central Electrical), recode to ###XY, where:

X = DRL
0 – Halogen without DRL
1 – Halogen with DRL
2 – Bi-Xenon with DRL
3 – Bi-Xenon without DRL
4 – Bi-Xenon with DRL / tail light / license plate light

Y = Locale
1 – Rest of World / Nordic Countries / Denmark / Croatia / Baltic Countries with Bi-Xenon
2 – Nordic Countries / Denmark / Croatia / Baltic Countries without Bi-Xenon
3 – USA / Canada with Bi-Xenon
4 – Canada without Bi-Xenon
5 – Special Vehicles

not illegal. I was using a cable I purchased, and I was using RossTech lite software. Really I was just looking for more insite as to how the coding works. Then I got slammed... There is nothing wrong or illegal about what I did/am doing.

If you have the OEM bi-xenon, ###31 would be the one i would use. Anyway, it is not hard to try other codes, just take note to what you have originally and write the ones you try.
If you put aftermarket HID, then you would have to leave it in halogen because of the voltage the ballasts uses.

i will call audi workshop tomorrow.

is there anyway i can try the headlight so that i know that they work?
beacuse if not i neeed to send them back so that i can get new ones.

also if i do the coding can i from there without connecting the 2 small wires that are for the HI beams try if the headlights work?

this is the one I bought, then i downloaded the RossTech Lite software from rosstech.com. For $8, you cant beat it. It did take like 7 working days to get to me.

i put the code in for EURO HEADLIGHTS and it works good but then when i try to put flashers on i get bulb out error and fast flashing as if there were a burnt light

Are you receiving one of the error messages outlined in this walkthrough or another one? Is your Port Status coming up as OK? You may wish to uninstall everything, restart the computer, and begin from scratch.

Nope im not getting any errors at all.. only the one i wrote before, the portstatus is ok everything seems
im using windows 7 ultimate on my netbook...

I am certainly puzzled by your error. What I can say is that I am using Windows 7 Starter, which is a 32-bit OS, vs. your Ultimate, which is 64-bit. I believe the drivers could be different. Certainly, the driver that appears in my computer's Device Mgr. USB view is a "High-Speed Serial". Have you been able to make other changes to other modules with VCDS-Lite? Just to verify, you have the car's ignition turned on (just before it fires the engine), correct?

Yes you need to turn the ignition on since that allows the cable/software to access the ECU. After you do that you should be good to go...

Ditto, need to have the ignition on. Just to be safe, you could start the engine and attempt to access the module.

so i just bought this: http://kufatec.com/index.php?main_pa...oducts_id=1443 and plugged it into my rns-e. went into the navigation module, i beleive its module 36, to enable the AUX. the coding is xxxxx57 but when i click "DO IT" the aux option doesnt appear in the "source" tab of the navi. can anybody help??
