hi, i'm new to the forum and wanted to get user feedback on tasteful modifications.

Currently, i have close to zero mods done to the car. driving stock for over a year now. started modding last month and i can't stop.. started w/tints and LED upgrades. just recently changed my stock exhaust tips to quads and rear valance.

plus i'm modding on a budget.. means no rims, crazy suspension, etc..

what are people's thoughts on the oem votex kit?? i think i read somewhere on this forum that it ran them $3,500.00 (install and all)?

    guess question is:
    what are your favorite mods?

*will post pics this wknd.. been raining in nyc.

if you are willing to pay 3,500 for a votex kit i don't think you'd have any problem at all affording a decent set of wheels/suspension. Try searching around for what is available.

the hre's i wanted are running around $1,550.00 each (or the quote i received so far). I don't have $6k to spend on wheels at the moment. hopefully, in the near future.

Wanting HRE's and being on a modding budget are kind of contradictory =]. Either way if you want to make what you currently have look nice i would suggest H&R "OE Sport" Springs which are fairly inexpensive and some spacers to bring your stock wheels out some. As far as the votex kit goes i don't think it looks all that bad.

@seph.. never had just springs on my car, i will give that a shot. thanks for the feedback.

@NPuter.. i hope to never spend that much on wheels. i have never in my life purchased a set of rims, only tires. so i am not too sure the cost involved or company to go with. i saw another forum memeber with a set of hres and thought they were the nicest wheels i have ever saw. after i found out how much, i see why not a lot of people have them.

Wheels and drop makes a big difference. I wouldn't base my budget off of HREs either. If you didn't, you can check out the wheel gallery thread and it can give you some ideas.

all show or go? is a good place to start for feedback.

I would never get a body kit on a stock height car, without aftermarket wheels. It's going to look idiotic; body kits are to enhance an already aggressive looking car IMO. They make HRE reps that are affordable and seem to be in your price range.

HRE are f*cking expensive wheels. You can get a set of 19" VMRs (popular wheel, some great designs) or similar for under $1500. they aren't shitty either, HREs are just much higher-end wheels.

you really just need to look around the forum before asking such broad questions.
there's no such thing as a favorite mod, it's just inconspicuously asking people to make a list for you to choose from.
performance, body kits (not so much, but still there), wheels & suspension, conversions etc. are basically the meat and potatoes of the forum.

Oh, and the votex body kit @ 3K is steep...what kind of "budget" are you on? haha. You could practically get a set of coilovers AND wheel/tire combo for that.

How do you have an S4 rear valance? I hope NPuter pops back here and helps with this quesiton. Does the "Prestige," model have the S-line pkg? I JUST talked with AWE yesterday and they said the valance shown on their web site (car just like mine, 3.2 with a nice rear valance) said it's from an Avant and I need an S-line rear bumper.

get sum replica wheels. u can get a decent set for around 1k. vmr has good wheels, and they r very helpful.great customer service. LED license plate lights,6000k HID fog bulbs, black grill(you can plastidip or buy. ECS tuning has some nice ones for a decent price), and coilovers to drop it

Best advice is to make sure you mod for yourself, not for others.

Figure out what you like, and what will work best for you and your situation.

Best way to do that is taking time to research and digest all the content provided in these forums.

You will figure it out without having to be confused by many others opinions!
