$5000 plus repair bill for small knocking sound when breaking, warranty covered.

So my 4 month old brand new A4 started making a knocking sound from behind the passenger dash board when in stop in go traffic, when you'd go from 5 mph to a stop, back to 5 mph. A side temperature flap for the HVAC system had broken and made the knocking sound. They replaced from the bill: heater box assembly, housing, 2 outlet hoses, and the car radio (yes the radio). Total cost $5000+ marked down to no cost due to the warranty.

I am amazed at the cost for such a small knocking noise. I am pleased the dealer went to the trouble to diagnose and fix the problem.

That is a crazy bill, I wonder if they really needed to replace all that (like the radio).

Sounds like they just went on a rabbit hunt at Audi's expense.....it would be interesting to see how they describe the issue in order to justify it :)

Bell Audi. They stated on the receipt that I complained about a button sticking, which I never did and my radio buttons didn't stick.
