Finally got the window trim done. Peeled off the plastidip and got a local shop to do the vinyl work for me. I'm obviously not smart enough to use BMW shadowline but if anyone has patience and a steady hand, go for it.

    hahah nice ass shot!

How is the contrast between the plasti-dipped grill and the vinyled trim?

I believe plastidip would be more durable in the long run, but vinyl still should hold up pretty well. Vinyl is smoother and well worth the cost of professional application.

Thanks, and trust me, it looks worse in person. Valence is a necessity.

Ah, here it is. Fresh from Alex@AWE is my non s-line quad tip valence.

I really don't know what else to do with this car. Springs will go on in the spring (ha) going to wait for winter to pass before I drop it. E-codes might come along eventually but don't make sense for me right now. Other minor things like side skirts (rock guards), intake, air filter, SS brake lines will all probably be added slowly over the next 1-2 years. School is starting up again soon so I'm going to have to put the mod bug to bed and let it hibernate for a while. In the mean time, I'll do my best to take some pictures of it wherever I go and live up to the "photo thread" part.

looks great man, I love your car. It looks absolutely decent at this height IMO. That's a beefy lookin exhaust too, AWE is awesome for offering this valence, it's cheap and looks great.

well, if OP is planning to put in a flame thrower then the tip are sitting where its supposed to be in the photos above; however exhaust note is intoxicating!

That looks really nice! Tips are pretty aggressive looking out that far. If that's what you're going for, cool.

Great looking rear valance...which one is that?

Thanks for the videos...gotta love the Valentine 1 at start up in vid #2...lol

Was thinking the same thing about the height which is why I'll hold off on lowering it for now. Never know how much snow we can get up here

I noticed the tips stuck out quite a bit when the exhaust first got installed, but thought with the valence it would hide it a little more. Guess not. I don't mind them being that far back, and I'm not sure if they can even be adjusted. They do pick up a lot of tiny rocks and sand from the road so I might have to look into that.

Valence is from AWE and IMO the best choice for going quad tip on a non s-line car without breaking the bank. V1 <3

Finally grew some balls and went through with this. Way too excited right now, just put the second headlight in. Sorry for the mediocre iPhone pictures, will definitely have a proper shoot in the next couple weeks before school starts up again.

Will give a more thorough review as soon as I grab my real camera and take some better pics.

Still haven't washed the baby in the last two days (surprising, I know) so can't comment on the water tightness of the headlamps. Overall the whole process was quite simple. Stressful, but simple. Would recommend this to anyone who has patience and even a small amount of skill around a car

I'll give my vinyl shop a call, I don't want it to start peeling. Plus I have 3M on the mirrors already, so not sure if that affects anything.

hey man I dig your car. I'm planning on putting a similar one together. What size are your wheels and did you have to get separate tires from the factory tires or did they still fit on the originals?
    Thanks.

why would you allege this mod would 'melt' your housing off?

Thanks hender! It wasn't my first color choice, but I have grown to love every bit of it. Red gets so much attention, which is both a pro and a con. Cory's avant is beautiful, I got some of my inspiration from his car.

Thanks for backing me up on this one Greg. It truly is a low-risk mod, if you simply take your time. Been proven over and over again to be successful as well. Don't knock it before you try it.

Changed flickr accounts, so some quoted photos don't work anymore...Blake do you mind cleaning that up for me?

    On to the updates:

Alu Kreuz going on Thursday! From what I've read this is an excellent product so I'm excited to have it bolted up. Also got a pair of 5mm spacers for the back wheels, throwing the offset to ET30 (I think).

Very clean and aggressive look. I love it. I'm waiting myself on my 012 brilliant red...euh since august, getting really impatient. Also bought the same rims, beautiful wheels. Keep it up, going to look up to your car for inspiration, same direction I want it!
