I did the install yesterday, I took some pics of the trunk release install in case someone finds them useful, attached below. Removing the door cards to install the window switches is trivial, all you need is the screwdriver.
In my case I did all the windows plus the trunk button, CAN $145 including everything from eBay from a German seller.
I only broke a total of 3 or 4 tabs between all my original switches and no more than one for any switch. A couple of switches even came out intact with all four tabs. I think the best way is to twist the switch sideways as you push it down.
Considering that even DavidB8 broke a couple of tabs while removing the entire door panel, I think it makes a lot more sense to just remove the trunk switch surround knowing that you WILL break a tab. Here's how I removed it and fixed it, maybe the next person can do it with less damage.
First, you have to start at the top, forget about prying anything at the bottom. It's very easy to get in there with a plastic trim tool and continue with a screwdriver covered with a cloth. When you pry it open at the top you're breaking the clip, as seen here:
The clip is broken and bent outwards:
A better view of the opening. The clip clips somewhere in there:
Here I Crazy-glued the clip back in place and held it with an elastic for a good 45 min:
After that I put the clip back in and expected it to snap in. At first it wouldn't catch the top of the opening because it was twisted too far inwards by the elastic, so I took some pliers and gently twisted the end of the clip outward. After a couple of tries I inserted it back into the opening and boom, it's clipping the button in once again.
If I had to do this again I would somehow try not to break the clip in the first place, it MAY be possible if you can first pry it open a little bit and then use some kind of hook tool to just bring the end of the clip inward without breaking the clip's base like I did. But if you break it then no big deal, as you can see. By the way, the trunk release button was by far the hardest to unclip for me. Not only does it have the four tab that easily break, but it also has a couple of extra larger tabs on the sides.
