need help. daytona gray with matte black wheels?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
my dad saw a b6 gray s4 with some sort of black rs4 rims and the silver mirrors/trim. and said it looked hot.
I have a daytona gray rs, and my question is, will my car look cool with matte black rims or glossy? I have the silver mirrors/grill and trim.

    Anyone's opinion is needed.
    1) powder coated back to stock hyper silver
    2) matte black
    3) glossy black
    4) 50/50 matte/glossy

I also have a Daytona RS4 and personally like the contrast that silver wheels bring.

I wouldn't personally put dark wheels on my car, not even the Titanium finish OEM wheels. On certain colours dark wheels can look good, but IMO Daytona isn't one of them.

I agree, to an extent. I personally really like the Titanium/Gunmetal OEM wheels. I think they look really quite cool.

That being said, I don't know what it is, but I just can't enjoy black wheels. That's my $.02

My DG with burshed aluminum M40s:

Matte black or aluminum will both look good, it's all on your preference really, can't go wrong either way. I personally love the contrast with the aluminum wheel matching the aluminum trim all over the exterior.

    That looks great ^^^

Not a fan of black wheels, kills the style.

I find the problem with an entirely black wheel is that from a distance, its hard to distinguish where wheel stops and tyre starts, so it tends to look like you are running with old fashioned big gumball tyres.

a black rim with a silver lip breaks it up so you can see and appreciate the look of the ultra low profile tyres

If you do, I really feel like your trim/mirrors/ect should also be matte black to complete the look. Silver wheels go nice with chrome trim, Ti wheels go nice with Ti trim, but black wheels on chrome trim is sort of a mismatch.

We do not have chrome trim.... It's BRUSHED! Either way, I love the contrast that the silver wheels give with all the accents. I've never been a fan of all black wheels (better with a shiny chrome/brush lip)

    Ok Brushed.

Personally I agree that silver wheels look the best. I feel that black hides the wheel detail too much. I know a lot of people like the black wheels, but IMO the trim should match. Black wheels with brushed/sliver trim looks like an after thought rather than a well integrated theme.

Either looks good, i think it really depends on what style wheel you go with which will give it that final touch!
