Updated pics of the Manwagon with latest mods

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It's been a while since I posted any pics (I think I posted pics here before?)..anyway here are some updated pics of the Manwagon with my latest vw blue lighting mod and Poser mod to hide the ugly tiptronic console.

I've always liked the VW blue lighting since I had a 2000 Jetta...I know some think white is better for the eyes (agree) but I think the blue is cool and I can always change it back.

That is the best blue lighting mod I have seen and the shifter is pretty awesome too! Good jobs.

It was easy, all you do is get the SPP tip mod with knob of your choice, a shift boot (ebay), the surround trim from a manual tranny car (Shokan or Ebay) and using a dremel, shave off some of the plastic under the trim piece. I do take off the boot when I take it to the dealer (the aluminum tip selector is still on) so they don't get confused with my Poserness.

Reminds me of my friend's 1984 Chevy S10 Blazer that had a 4 speed manual with a 5 speed shift nob, took his dad 5 minutes to find reverse because he kept looking at the pattern on the nob, but reverse was where 5th was on the nob and the nob showed reverse left of 1-2 and down

Sick Avant! I have the same year, same color Avant but with a real 6-speed under that shifter boot ;). Also, I was just looking at putting those exact wheels but tires were 255 and I felt those were too big and heavy. Nice!

I did the SPP Tip mod knob a long time ago and don't remember what I did, but followed someone else's DIY either here or audiworld (I think). Part is from here: http://www.supremepowerparts.com/pro...x?prod_id=5198

When I got the carbon fiber trim (Ocarbon.com - did a solid job), I got a manual trim piece done for somebody as well as the trim piece for the the tip. Buddy didn't want the manual trim piece so I kept it. I was inspired by this guy's diy : http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4176712

All you have to do is shave some of the plastic off of the underside of the trim piece (with a dremel) so the leather boot (from an A4 via ebay)will fit underneath. Then just snap the trim piece back on. I got a better fit (less gap) using the tiptronic trim piece and removing the aluminum gate selector on the Tip, but was concerned since there was no protection for the tip selector circuit card (underneath the aluminum piece) so I used the manual shift trim piece and left the aluminum tip selector on.

I bought one a little while back. I contacted them on messenger or somethin. They didn't make them for like 10yrs, but recently did a run of them. The new ones are metal, not plastic like the old ones. They're like $80-$90.0417211701.jpg1125200045a.jpg
