Rear strut housing

Hi yall, I'm not sure what the technical term for the part I'm looking for, but Ill just call it a strut housing. What I'm looking for is a replacement rear left hand strut housing(mount?). Ive had a clunk in that wheel well since I bought the car several weeks back, and I finally got it up on stands to give the car a once over. Among other things, I've noticed that the housing that the top shock bolt attaches to the vehicle is rusting through. I can only guess the previous owners lived up north and the salt has eaten at this thing over the years. Ive searched the forums and sites like ECS for this part with no luck. Ill try to get a picture up before I pass out for the night to give yall a better understanding of what I'm looking for, in case my description is fuzzy. Thanks yall.

i know what your talking about. the part that acts almost like a rear control arm and has 4 bolts that bolt right up to the body? my suggestion for the cheapest fix is go to the junk yard and ty to find either a wrecked s4 or an a4 with that hopefully has that same part. or even just try the stealership and see what they got in stock or if they can order it.

That's exactly the part that I'm needing. I'd just like to find the financially best way of getting it, already dropped ~$700 into basic maintenance thus far this week.
