    Fuel Tank Area Wet?!

    Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is normal.

After a heavy rain in my area, I went to fill up petrol, as I opened the tank flap I notice that the fuel tank area inside is wet. Fuel cap was closed, but I'm just wondering if this is normal?

Never really took notice before....Anyone else have this happen to their car?

    Peace.

Thanks quality_sound. Just wasn't sure if it was something to worry about.

It's not a sealed door as you can tell when you flip it open. You should wash in there when washing the car. Fuel and grime usually ends up in there.

Nah, especially with heavy rains. I really wish they'd have sealed it better but at least it's easy to dry unlke some cars that have all kinds of little nooks and crannies that drip water FOREVER.

Had it last week aswell. There is a small hole in the center and i suppose that leads to a small tube exiting 'somewhere' under the car. Anyway, i took the air compressor and gave it a few blows. Like the drains at the front window (from what i heard but haven't checked where they are located...anyody knows?), it can get cluttered.

Yeah I figured that little hole was a drain, but mine fills with water after a wash or rain too, so if it's a drain mine must be plugged.
