I have 2500k/mi on the car and I started to hear sort of a howling sound when the car is coming to a stop. Does anyone else hear it on their car?

Sounds like when a airplane engine shuts off.

My car does sound like that when I turn it off, but not when coming to a stop.

    Yeah same here.

Audi_Fan are you sure its from the tires?

Exactly, just like when you turn it off. When your are going say 30 and over and press the brake sort of firmly (not short-stopping) you hear the sound. I'm begining to this its the tires. :/

Well if it is tires, that's a good thing. Hopefully with a little more wear the issue will resolve itself.

I hope so, it's really annoying. I drove the first thousand very carefully per car's manual recommendations.

My car is A6 3.0 Quattro 2010 Prestige package. I seemly got the same thing with you but i'm not sure these noise from the tires or not. It does not make sense to replace an expensive 19in low profile tires (~$400/each) when only have 20k/mi driving.
