Got to the ST website, they have a downloadable template that you cut out to mimic the caliper for whatever set you are getting, then pull your wheel and place the center piece of the template in your centerbore, and sweep it back and forth to check for spoke and outer edge clearance.

    Vir impression; B8 S4 impression

Just back from VIR DE event by Potomac chapter Audi Club.
Lots of cars to die for: GT2, GT3, R8's including several V10's
    and one twin turbo V10.
I get to ride/drive several different cars, as one of the event chief instructors
and was quite impressed with a 2010 Audi S4, with all the pe. rformance options
but not 19" rims. The stock brakes/pads did well, and the car was quite
poised on the track. While there are lots of threads about upgrade brakes,
the stock setup worked well. I thought the car could use stiffer swaybars,
but the Stronic worked quite well with the driver using manual mode and letting
    car shift at redline automatically.
I agree with all the comments about stock brakes, but at 345mm they are fairly
large rotors. I have St60's on my 2002 S6 and they greatly improve brake modulation.
I find my stock B8S4 brakes are difficult to modulate, so an upgrade would improve modulation

But the brakes worked well in the one session I instructed. And the S-Tronic was
really crisp, and in this case, the student was able to concentrace on other driving
demands rather than shifting. I drove my BMW race car instead of the new
S4 so could not give my direct dirving impression of the S4.

I also instructed at VIR with my 95.5 S6 track car & left my
    S4 at home.
I was also disappointed with the initial pedal feel & overall
modulation on the S4 brakes. After repeated discussions with
my local shop, Tyrolsport, they let me try out a prototype of
their S4 solid brake bushing kit. The squish at the top of the
pedal is gone & the modulation is much better. BTW, I have yet
to hear the cold braking squeal.

I was wondering how much brake fluid is required to completely flush the system. I will be installing my ST-60 BBK in a couple of weeks and I was going to upgrade to Motul 600 fluid. I purchased 3 500mL bottles of it, but will this be enough. I don't want to realize I don't have enough during the middle of my install.

    Thanks

I was wondering the same as well as how to flush the ABS module of the bit of fluid it retains.

That is useful information, however, I don't see where it tells anything about the amount of fluid required. Does anyone who has completely flushed their system know how much fluid I will need?

Mine was totally flushed out, they used 3 bottles and had a little left over, you should be all good.

I've read that before, but I was inquiring in case someone had knowledge of the tool required or if maybe the VCDS has the ability to do the ABS cycling of valves.

Otherwise, the car will have 95% new Motul fluid and 5% old Audi fluid.

I found that you can use the VCDS for ABS Brake Pump Bleeding:

    http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/absbleeding.html

    [Select]
    [03 - ABS Brakes]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 002
    [Go!]

This will trigger the ABS pump to turn on for about 10 seconds. You should hear the fairly loud pump clicking during this time.

Click the [Done, Go Back] button and you're all set.

It does say that this is for many older VW and Audi. I wonder if it will work on ours, or if it needs to be done on ours.

@NWS4Guy - Any comments on pad/rotor wear? How many miles have you had this kit on now? Thanks!

I'll take some pics, but dust and wear as similar to the ST pads I swapped to before getting the BBK - MUCH less dust than stockers make. My rear rotors have a nice blue hue to them from the heat, but the ST's are still pretty untouched by any amounts of stopping that put the blueing on the rears. Pad wear seems negligible, as does rotor wear from what I can tell without having done any measurements at installation.

I have about 2700 miles on these to date since install on the fronts - the rear pads have over 10K miles on them.

Right on. Thanks man. Good to hear that pad wear and dust is fairly low on the street. Looks like this may be the direction I need to go. I can't believe you got these for free!! Crazy...

My motivation for a BBK is 50% looks, 50% functionality. So I don't need a crazy kit like the Brembo or Alcon. That being said, I have had the factory brakes smoking on the street and ran into some pretty serious fade out at High Plains Raceway East of Denver (a track notorious for eating brakes and tires) after only 5 laps or so. I do plan on tracking this car occasionally in the future and would like more than 5 laps at a time :) Plus, its good peace of mind to have complete confidence in your brakes in all driving conditions.

    Thanks again.

Not completely free but pretty damn close!

In talking to Scott and seeing how hard he stock calipers were even on the ST-Street Perf pads, it only makes sense if you are going to do medium to hard tracking that you get something you can swap pads out easily on. The ST has a removable bridge using an allen wrench on 4 bolts per side to easily swap pads at the track without having to pull the entire caliper. I'd recommend just going all in and not risking the issues Scott saw on the ST street/perf pads and just get some nice track duty pads, then give them a good warmup lap or two so they get hot enough for good bite.

Anyone know what size Pistons are used for the 355mm rotor kit? I need to replace my dust boots as the Powdercoating shop idiots didn't tape over the Pistons before coating and now they are destroyed 😞. I didn't have any knowledge beforehand so I expected them to do it right
