Top speed run with a chip 2.8?

I hit 130 in my old 12v. no chip though. i don't think 12v engines have aftermarket chip.

Got to 140 in my supercharged 30v.. Havent really found too many safe roads by me to go much faster.. But she still had plenty more

You are right, there is none available for them.

Track one time I hit about 145 roughly - did not have the room or even the gearing to get much higher. People who say they can go faster are just fooling themselves. Maybe on an auto tranny, but not a manual.

In order to get past 130, the speed limiter must be disengaged.

ive hit +- 135 on the highway... didn want to know if i wanted to go any faster than that, besides i was running out of good stopping distance room... thats with a chipped and intake 2.8 with 130k on it.....josh

The manual says the governor limit is 130 on 2.8s.

i hit 145 in my dad's mercedes e-320 cabriolet =) on the 73 south freeway in newport beach going to san juan. was scary shit.

dont quite understand how, might have been just cause i was going downhill, but it almost feels like tehre is no governor on that car.

Hey im new to the site but im a proud owner of a 97.5 2.8 Q and ive done 132 slightly downhill before the Gov kicks in and slows me down to ~125 then climbs back to 132 and so forth, its got plenty to pull im guessing to 140 its around 5k RPM at 132 in 5th. So far all i have is a Custom Made Exhaust but im looking into some more stuff soon.
