Charlie sold his Avant. Not sure how often he's on here anymore.. Might be kinda difficult to get info on what he did exactly. Have you looked at your harness already blk04ultrA4?

I did and had broken and exposed wires on cylinders 1 & 2. Repaired what I could but am still getting misfires on cylinder 3 now. I replaced all my cp's and plugs about 5k ago. I was hoping to get a deal on the wiring harness but did not realize this thread is over a year old until now. lol.

I went back and forth with them about this for months. Did the same with Issam, who allegedly made a handful for some people a while back. I don't know why they have not decided to add this product to their catalog. Issam was saying something about the camshaft (Hall) sensor and how it was problematic to address with the repair harness. Apparently its a pretty sensitive connection and easy to screw up.

I actually had to have my shop fabricate something, which cost an arm and a leg but came out nicely. You could probably fabricate something on your own if you were semi-electrically inclined. All you would need is some repair wires, new boots, Jetronic connectors, and wire wrap/sleeve of your choice.

Well there you go then. Looks like that would work. Not very attractive, but if you hide it under the engine cover you would never see it.

the problem with that is that you need to buy the sparkplugs and coil packs.. i already purchase sparkplugs and coil packs, i even have an extra set of them.

You could always ask them to sell the shield separately. The worst that could happen is they say "no".

Or find some of that material (ceramic fabric maybe?) and make your own! It doesn't look very complicated. Here is some stuff for sale at Jegs:

Where can this 'W Style Crimper' be picked up locally? Maybe RadioShack? I plan on trying to get this installed today and want to make sure I have what I need to do it right.

These are Deutsch connectors. It is an Industrial design and you will readily find the correct crimpers at Industrial and big rig suppliers. Harley dealers use them as well. You will NOT find them at Lowes, Home Depot or any other " box store".

You can spend $200 on a set of HD Deutsch crimpers...or you can get a " light duty " version for under $30 on E-Bay. I have the cheap set and they work just perfect.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Deutsch-...bc1070&vxp=mtr

Pins and terminals are available from Pico at any knowledgeable Automotive parts dealer. Ask for Deutsch DT series pins. Get the solid barrel type and use the above crimper.

You can order online as well from hundreds of places. Here's just one supplier ( but a good one. ):

Definitely a great product. Just replaced mine over the weekend. Car starts like normal and no more blown fuse #29. I was a little confused on the installation instructions but 034motorsport's great customer service came through for me. They sent me a diagram that best explain how the wiring connections go. The trick is to strip the insulation wiring off completely from the old worn out CP wiring harness so you can see which wire is what and label them accordingly. See pic for further reference. I hope this helps others trying to decipher the installation instructions.

I'm in the process of installing the 034 1.8T coil harness on my 1.8T Golf and I'm not sure what to do with the 4 extra ground wires that don't have a home on the 034 pin connector. The connector only has 12 pins and each coil has 4 wires, leaving 4 wires without a connector. Does the 034 harness take care of all the grounding and you just cap these extra wires off? The installation instructions don't mention the extra wires and I'm still waiting for a definitive response from 034. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I just purchased the 034 1.8T coil harness for my 1.8t gti awp engine. My coil pack harness has only 10 wires.....I know where the first 8 wires go (coil wire and common power wire) but I only have 1 yellow vss ground wire and 1 brown ignition ground wire) Did you figure out how to wire the 034 coil pack harness on your 1.8t gti? Any help would be great!

Im trying to install the 034 1.8t coil pack harness on my 1.8t gti AWP engine. How did you wire up the harness on your 1.8t golf? Did you have only 10 wires when you cut the harness?
