S-Tronic Launch Control

Is it true that 6 speed S-Tronic has somewhat of a launch control? I have the 2003 TT
I read through few forums, and Jason (hes on this forum just forgot his nickname) told me that i can do that.
So i just wanted to ask how many of you tried this?
It does seem to go to around 2.5k or 3k RPM's and i can get a decent launch.
The question is, how safe or bad is it for my car?

Im assuming you have mk2...
i have mk1 2003, there is no more warranty...

How do you activate launch control? I have a TTS, I did not see any reference to this in the OM. Thanks!

press brake pedal ,and the mash the throttle the rpms should go up to 3k i think

Come to a full stop,
Put it in Sport or Manual,
Turn off ASR and ESP by holding down the button until the Display says it's all off, (MY '10 or newer only one touch)
Check yer mirrors,
Push accelerator to the floor, (making sure it's reving freely and not grabbing the clutch)
Dump the brake,
Hang the fu@k on!

Like I said its not really a "launch control" its more of a brake boosting/assisted launch (mk1 that is, not sure how mk2 is). You should build a PSI or two of boost. If you are really good you could two step it and use your ebrake to help hold the car. With FWD it may = Tire spin.

AND LIKE A SAID, with your trans situation, I HIGHLY do not recommend it other then for reasons of doing a quick torque converter test.
