Key fob battery keeps dying rather quickly?

I've replaced the battery about a month ago and now it's dead again. I wouldn't say it's completely dead but it keeps popping up on my instrument cluster that the batter needs changing.

Does anyone else experience this?

Had the car for almost a year now and no problems whatsoever thankfully. Must be some defect within the fob itself. Any way Audi can just replace it?

Did it ever get wet?

My b5 fob kills a battery in a week.

No, never been wet as it really never leaves my pocket.

ill have to keep an eye on that, never happened before. you should take it into the dealership. you should be under warranty so have them take a look at it.

had my b5 for 4 years now and never replaced it!

they should replace your fob at the dealer.

when its in your pocket, are you sitting on it so a button is held down and its transmitting the entire time?

I don't keep it in my pocket for long and I definitely do not sit with it in my pocket, I usually take it out but I could see where that could do it.

Happened to me a couple times, now shes in better working condition. i honestly dont know why its working better now or why it was working terribly before. But I feel your pain cuz its pretty annoying. Good luck
