It definitely has been a while...no real progress recently. Slot of stuff changed for me the past few months-lost my job, moved into a new place with the gf, etc. I just finished moving and started my new job a week and a half ago and the pay is better than my old job, so this project will finally get going again :)

Definitely stoked to get going again.

Nothing real new to post other than I have the motor at home now and will start getting back into the build once I finish up the TT I picked up. I need to put the block together, order some stern mounts and then mock the motor up in the car so we can begin measurements for fabrication ;)

Haven't been in any real hurry to get this project done, just taking my time and making progress when I feel like it haha. I've actually really enjoyed working on another car for a bit.

Well, I haven't posted here in forever...but I figured I'd give you all an update for those that are still around, of the progress that is being made on the VR6 build. It's been at my fabricators shop for about a year and a half. He's working on it when he has time, between the birth of his first son and his full time day job. We aren't in any real rush, but I'm happy with the progress being made. He's doing literally all of the fabrication, custom. So far he has completed the custom Motor Mounts, Intercooler piping, Intake Manifold, Turbo Manifold, etc. He will also be doing a coolant swirl pot, custom coolant lines, and downpipe and exhaust. It's getting there.

My only concern would be the engine brackets.

Aluminium brackets are incredibly light and strong, this applies to cast aluminium though. Welded aluminium brackets can crack around the welds, so I would consider going with steel versions.

this guy welds aluminum semi trailers for a living, so he's pretty good. However, that is something we have discussed as well, and will cross that bridge if it comes to that. They're pretty damn beefy though, so I'm not too worried at this point. I originally had steel brackets, but they looked like garbage, so we went a different route.

decided to take a week and a half and work on my garage project I've always wanted to tackle. It's a 3-car garage, which I've always wanted, and now I've got it basically complete how I envisioned in my head. I epoxied the floors, painted the walls and cabinetry, now I just need to tackle the lighting next. Overall very pleased with the outcome. Still haven't parked the cars inside yet, as I'm making the sure floors are 100% cured before doing so.

Few more progress pictures on the car. Nubworks is almost finished up with a bulk of the "big work" on the car, so it will be coming home to me in a week or so. At that point I will begin disassembly once again, to work on finishing up the body work in the engine bay, Bending/Flaring new brake lines, work on battery relocation, ABS relocation, and other miscellaneous things.

Here are some pictures of the Swirl Pot/Coolant Reservoir setup, Wastegate Dump Tube, Wastegate mounted up, etc.

Can't wait to get this thing back home to get back to working on it!!!

Nub dropped the car off on Saturday morning. I took the opportunity to rinse off the 2 years of dust that had accumulated before pulling it into its space in the garage. Now it will be my opportunity to work on it, before getting finished up at Nubworks at some point. The plan now is to pull the engine back out and get it checked out by Double J Motorwerks to ensure the machine work was properly done (for my own peace of mind). While that is being done I will finish the bodywork on the engine bay, re-bend/flare new brake lines for the ABS Relocate, Polish the newly fabbed components, and tie up other loose odds/ends.

Some pictures from the unloading and her new spot...need a bigger garage. 5 cars is too many.

I could list off a bunch of excuses for you, but everyone knows the saying...excuse are like...

the car is sitting in my garage. Not much progress on it the past few months. The summer when I planned to work on it came and went quicker than expected and other priorities took over, as have the past couple of years.

I do plan to get to work on it again in the next month or so and try to work on it as much as weekends allow this winter.

Stay tuned folks. She's still around and I appreciate the interest people have shown. It will run again one day!
