My friend came down and ran vag-com on my car. Ive got a cylinder 2 misfire, thinking its the ICM, its also running rich as hell. My a/f was pegged in the rich zone after it ran for a bit. Im going to call C2 in the morning and see if Lemmiwinks can work with their tune, if so, my friend can adjust the fuel, if not, I guess the ecu is being shipped off again. Going to replace the ICM as well to see if it corrects anything. I plan on doing the ATW conversion and new coil packs, but just want to find the culprits first.

Just got off the phone with C2. They suggested putting my original ecu and injectors back in to see if its still misfiring. If not, its most likely that the ecu is crap, which I dread.

That sux, i am watching this thread to see what the Frankenturbo can do. I have the Scroll and am sure it can do more than the tuner got from it

Quick update. I swapped back to my original ecu and fuel injectors, and the car runs fine. There is no misfire or flooding. I also found out I have a 4bar fpr where C2 calls for a 3bar, so that could be my running rich problem. The misfire, mainly the ecu. I remember when I got the other ecu, to have my original sent out, it caused my car to run like shit, I figured it wouldnt since it got flashed, but that wasnt the case. So now Ive got to track down another ecu to have flashed, and a 3bar fpr.

I'm curious to see how your C2 motorsports tune turns out. I am still trying to figure out what I am doing with tuning. I've been running around on a Unitronic 440cc file and its just too rich. Can't seem to adapt well enough. Rough idle. Hard starting sometimes. Anything over 15psi it breaks up. New Maf, New plugs. Still has same issue.

This is taking way too long to finish up. Waiting on another ecu since the other one is complete garbage.

Oh you dont know the half of it lol. What should have taken a total of a week, has been close to a month now. Its all over a shady seller and spare ecu I had bought, that ended up being a piece of shit from the start.

On another note, another ecu is in the mail headed my way, and hopefully a good one. Once I get it, shouldnt be but a day or 2 turn around to be chipped, buy a 3bar fpr and everything should be good to go.

    Malone Tuning "Stage 3"

    http://malonetuning.com/?page_id=243
I'm using Malone. Can't say too much yet as I'm still in process (dealing with what looks like a bum MAF sensor right now) but it does appear very promising. Even with a bad sensor and the car not running right it pulls pretty damn hard. I should have the new sensor this weekend and if that fixes the issue I'll have some new logs to post and hopefully some more tweaks to the tune.

If you need to find a 3bar fast, most of the 1.8T VW's have them.

A friend of mine, who us a VW tech was going to get me one, but hes gone to Miami right now. I bought one from a guy off Vortex earlier today. Hope to have the new ecu and fpr by Tuesday. If that happens, I can drive to C2 and have the ecu flashed, swap the fpr, injectors and ecu there and have everything fine tuned.

Is that directed to me? If so no one has mentioned a need for a different FP Reg on this setup. I won't be able to tell if I need one until I can get some proper logs, which I can't get until my MAF sensor is sorted out. But I will keep that in mind.

Got my other spare ecu today, swapped it in the car and no troubles at all. Already got it packaged up and shipped back out to C2. Still waiting on my fpr to get here, and my intercooler piping from Godspeed.

With the godspeed piping, did you just buy the kit with all the piping and plan to mock up your own?

I bought the specific piping made for our cars. I had bought a universal, but there was no way it was going to work, without having to cut it up and have it all welded.

Results shouldnt be too much longer. I got my 3 bar fpr in the mail earlier today, so just got to wait on C2 to get my ecu, tune it and ship it back.

Why not have VAST tune your ecu?

Will VAST tune a DBC car? Every place i've talked to they want to charge over $1000 for a custom tune for that turbo. Plus anything like Eurodyne etc you can't get email updates because you can't rewrite the software.

I feel more comfortable working with a tuning company thats close to home. If I have any troubles or need some fine tuning, all I have to do is hop in the car, drive a little over an hour, and Im at C2. Ive had a lot of people try and blame C2 for the messed up ecu/tune, but the ecu was bad before it was even in their hands.

xdewaynex which MAF are you running? I thought about going with C2 but I think I am going to give Malone a try.

When I first visited C2, Chris the owner, mentioned he had talked to Doug/Slappy about developing a tune for the FT setups, but I dont know when. Once they do, I may give it a shot, but for now, Ill run their K04 tune with a few minor adjustments.

O ok. So are you running the "Stage 5" Tune with the 440cc's? I was going to go with C2 but I just want something slightly more "custom" and fitted better for the turbo. I don't really care about the power numbers. I want something that idles nice, doesn't have cold start issues, and gets decent gas mileage.

Yea its listed as their Stage 5 with 280hp. Thats what I like about living close to the shop, if I need anything adjusted, I can just drive up there.

There is a shop about 40mins away that carries C2 but they dont have a AWD dyno and I don't think they would be able to make any corrections to the software.

If it wasnt for bad luck, Id have none at all. Called C2 today and their chip burner bit the dust, and they wont have a new one until Monday. So another week, no software.
