When you do this swap to OEM adaptive bixenons, how do you correctly level the headlights since the car will not have all the leveling sensors? Can you manually level the headlights?

Yes, there are two adjustments on each headlight. Both are a white-ish plastic circle with a 6mm (I think) hex in the center. One adjusts vertical and you do it just like any normal headlight vertical adjustment, park in front of a wall on flat ground and adjust until cutoff is proper height (Google it, it has been a while since I did this, something like 30" at 25'). The side to side is the other hex and for the adaptive retrofitted into a halogen car, it does not seem to do much with the beam projected on the wall, so I just centered them in the shroud with the lights off.

Yes you will have to code it via vagcom to enable the high beam function. I was able to use the low beam function without coding but others weren't.

This DIY has been very helpful in doing the conversion but I have hit a snag that I need some help on (knowing the thread activity is getting stale).
It appears Kufatec has changed the harness some: the yellow runs are now gray and the terminals are far too large to fit into the BCM harness locations. I have reached to Kufatec and indicated that what I received appears to be a different revision from what is pictured (white with smaller terminals) on their website and wanted some direction on how to use. Their response was less than encouraging.

My question is: does anyone knows the terminal style or type I need in order to plug the leads into the connector Phil pictured?

You can order repair wires with the connector already crimped

The connector is the same type as my AUX input DIY

Okay so I am now having a new issue. harness is *in*, new pins in place and plugged in. I can go into Mod 9 and change the codes but nothing happens at all. All I presently have is that my City lights are coming on as my high beam, as well as my turn signals. Nothing else turns on at all.

I am perplexed as I followed the DIY to a T. Any help is appreciated.

Update: I came to realize it never says my coding or recoding has been accepted. Is that the issue?

I suspect that your interface is incorrectly wired. Where did you purchase it from?

I am having the same issue. I recently bought the harness directly from Kufatec, when connected my DRL’s come on instead of the high beams. City lights, low beams, and signals, all work as they should. I have not VAG’d the system or connected the 2 extra wires from the harness. I guess I should mess with it and see if Kufatec changes the harness.

Right from Kufatec. I am beginning to think its faulty shipping as I looked back at my original invoice and it shows: Adapter xenon headlights for Audi A4, Seat Exeo (33872), but the shipping invoice they sent me shows Adapter xenon headlights for Audi A4 B6 with B7 headlights 33861. I have to assume thats my issue.

Update: I indeed had the wrong harness.

Per the DIY I am fairly certain the unconnected leads are your high-beams and changing the coding to 10021 or whatever should fix the rest.

I’m having the same issue and I change the code using vagcom, the terminals were to large so I went to junk yard and got myself some trigger wires and still no luck, even used the combination of all codes on my avant. Not sure what’s wrong. My dash says all the bulbs are out and the city/drl light is the only thing that turns on only unsung high beam even after coding

If the two leads were too large to go into the plug in the cabin then you probably have the same issue as I did; which is you have the wrong harness. I had the exact same symptoms.

Does anyone know if the "auto" function would work if I were to replace the switch? Does the daytime light sensor work on these?

Hi everyone, sorry to bring this back to life but I have one question before I connect the high beam wires into the terminal block: Kufatec indicates a different pin location that slots 21 and 22 and I am curious if this can vary based on the central electric control module. My CECM model number is 8K0 907 063 P. I can not seem to find this information anywhere, however I did read in a few forums that the CECM can vary based on the stock electricals which is logical.

Phil - a decade later and your DIY is still helping us out here! Thanks for the great write up.
