[QUOTE=VNA4;12558697]Borla sells the rear mufflers separately without having to purchase the whole exhaust system?
If so can you post a link?

EDITED: Here's the golden nugget of info. The guy that did it is Evil35r. This is his post: "750$ For everything I don't have any part numbers the borlas are pro xs's 14" center in center out mufflers and the tips are quad 4" staggered off of eBay polished stainless paid 120$ for them. But paid 750$ all together sounds better than the almost 2k borla system and way better than the magnaflow and awe system. I'll do some flybys soon."

    That's my game plan.

Anyone try two x pipes ?

Contemplating doing a second where the resonator delete is . I think with the muffler delete already in place a second x pipe would clean up the sound and keep it loud but smooth tone

Don't do it. One x pipe should be enough. If you're having drone issues or frequency tones that are not desired just add more resonators or better mufflers.

Yeah and could potentially be counter productive. A nice resonated x pipe should to the trick. With enough material to deaden the sound on the low rpms when the gasses aren't moving fast enough.

Add two of these. It will refine your sound but it will still be loud when you are on it. Mine are welded together just before the chassis cross brace.

That was my thinking . When I only had a resonator delete it sounded like shit than I did x pipe and cleaned up nicely , now I've done a muffler delete and something sounds good but a bit raspy when I punch it like merging onto a highway

I already have the Magnaflow 11385.

It'd be cheaper to add the ECS X pipe than to source mandrel bends to replace my crimp bends and find a shop to weld them in.

So I have The X-pipe from Magnaflow, great sound but a bit raspy wanted a deeper tone.
Contemplating Borla or Magnaflow as mufflers with AWE tips (purchased from AZ member)

Now from what I’ve read they are both almost identical in terms of sounds.

I’ve found this feedback from AchTung regards Magnaflow being “cheap glass pack” versus borla “all steel wool pack”

Can anybody chime in on this?

For those asking about doing a double x-pipe. There is a guy on the facebook page that did it and it sounded really good. No rasp, and deep.

I'd be interested in seeing some other peoples videos if they do this.

i have been contemplating doing something like this. Installing the magnaflow in the center and adding two smaller resonators instead of straight piping the center section (anyone use the OEM resonators instead)

Any link outside of Facebook? I'd like to look at getting rid of some of the drone I have in my setup. Magnaflow resonated x pipe in place of baby resonators, center res delete and stock mufflers.

I was thinking about doing this setup except with a non-res x-pipe. Do you have any videos of your setup and how bad is the drone? I know that is subjective but is it unbearable or how much? I was going to the shop this weekend to get it done.

having done a non res x-pipe - I would do resonated x-pipe to keep interior cabin drone down

Dang ok, maybe I'll just do the x-pipe in place of the center res and keep the baby res. Was hoping to get a louder note though

Drone is loud from 2-3k rpms. Other than that it sounds marvelous. I think I may look at small resonators for the center, not sure I want to replace mufflers yet.

Get doing much more and I may as well buy an AWE system used from someone.

Hmm yeah that won't fly with my wife....

I wonder if putting the baby res in place of the center res be any different compared to replacing the center-res with the x-pipe and keeping everything else the same

If you like the sound of the xpipe mod, but want it louder, I would say keep the baby res, put xpipe as close to those as possible, then straight pipe it with no mufflers. Or you could put xpipe in place of baby res, delete center res, replace mufflers with baby resonators.

Exhaust Mod - Resonator replaced w/ X-Pipe (video)

Would you think the baby resonators do more to deaden the sound than the mufflers, if they were installed in place of them?

Hmm. Not sure. I took mine out at the same time as everything else, but I assumed since they were so small they had the least effect at sound deadening.

Yeah, I think I may try to find some sort of small resonators to put in the center.

There's a guy a page or so back that posted a vid where he replaced the mufflers with some resonators, it sounds pretty good.

Now from what I’ve read they are both almost identical in terms of sounds.

I’ve found this feedback from AchTung regards Magnaflow being “cheap glass pack” versus borla “all steel wool pack”

Can anybody chime in on this?

One question brother, have you seen what happens to steel wool after it gets exposed to water? In good combustion you have water as a byproduct. Now ask yourself, how long will the steel wool material last until it all becomes rust and "flows away" or worse yet, messes up the welds inside the muffler itself.

There's a reason the OEM mufflers come with poly or glass pack material.

The non resonated X pipe dan be fiber wrapped to reduce drone a bit. Cover it with high heat silicone spray and it will
    Last a while.

So you put these in place of the OEM baby resonators? You got a video?

    Did you ever do this?
