Yeah but, what I just noticed was that, when I started the car up, the assembly is actually in a tight fit, I can't even move it 1mm back (vacuum?)

I did it anyway. Cleaned it around a little, warmed up the car, and slapped JB Weld on there.

Fly are you sure that little gap is not supposed to be there? I noticed the same thing on my last summer, so I compared it to a friends 2.0T and his was exactly the same. I do know when the car is under max vacuum (warmed up at idle) the gap is no longer there.

This fitting, where the elbow is connected, should not move at all. When I went to the Dealer, I had a brand new housing in my hands and the fitting is pressed inside the aluminum housing, it should not move

Just to make sure we are on the same page (pretty sure we are). It goes Vacuum Pump>Plastic "Nipple">Rubber Elbow. You are saying the Plastic "Nipple" (that the rubber elbow fits on) should not move at all?

Do you know the part number of what would need to be replaced if you wanted to fix this without the JB Weld? I'm having the same issue and the part has a fare amount of play.

Hi Phil, I live in Tampa and have the same problem. I am considering to use JB Weld. But my concern is that I am not sure if this hose is designed to be noisy that way. If we fix it in place with JB weld, the hose will no longer be flexible or expandable when heated. So will it break? What do you think? Since you have several Audi cars, what is the design in other model at this hose? Thanks.

No worries, the tube will not break and it's not designed like this (confirmed by the Dealer)

So,you mean that vacum pump is the problem if the car has RPM variation,or do i misunderstand ? My 2006 2.0 tfsi (tiptronic) is working like the video shown in thread 'strange behavior' !
I can see some grease on top of the vacum pump housing and the tube going out on top looks like you describe. I have no error codes.

I used some prc 1826 B 1/4 (aka ac 240) sealant, i will see how that holds up over time.
How do u think that will hold up over time. I figured it being softer than epoxy, it would be more flexible and withstand hot/cold cycles better.
Plus it was free at work. always nice.

    LOL
If you used PRC, we are working on the same world. Are you working at ZSU?
1826 is meant for fuel and not heat. I would have used instead 1547 (-70C to 300C)
It might hold, time will tell

I work in MKE , maintenance for an airline. 1826 is the type used most at work, and from my experience the most widely used. Can be used for anything from aerodynamic, fuel tanks, sealing antennas, nutplates, prox sensors, heated leading edge and cowl lip heat (bleed air) i have used it for almost everything.
fly300knts, nice hangar from the timing belt diy, came in handy. thanks man keep it up.

I have put weld on like described here, but i still have this RPM variation. I used Araldit 2012 epoxy extra strong(i did'nt get the JB so i tried this). I can't move the tube now. So it must be something else causing the variation ?

Audi spesialits has tried the car and they mean i must flush the gearbox and put new oil on it.then if it does'nt work change the TC ! But they will not guarantee this is the problem
But if it's the TC will it help flushing ?

I have no clue about this

Found out today: Araldit 2012 is not good enough,it does not manage to keep the hose on it's place
I am sick and tired of this problem and i will buy a new vacum pump.
i Will come back after replacing pump, maybe RPM problems is gone !

    Thanks for all help,answers

    Hi Phil

The part cost 3200NOK(556.8 USD),with labor 4800NOK.(4800 Norsk krone (NOK) = 835.2 Amerikansk dollar (USD))

So i hope you are right about this solving RPM variation.I will order this week.

Can you tell me how vacum pump works ? Cause i was thinking it just controls the brake system ? So,how can it influence the RPM ?

(I must say, this variation came after changing timing belt.)So you guys know!
